even if you cant get the right colors its possible to change direction just by swapping the wires. some say this dont work but i know from thrust tests it has little effect on performamce. and i dont think it shortens life either. of course it does make it easier to set things up and replace motors if you use the right colors.

i tried to make some more videos of the diy octo sunday but wind and rain put a damper on that. and what with sandy howling away outside there might not be another chance for another week or two. so im uploading some old test files instead like i did for the 2 foot quad. short and nothing fancy but it does show lift and yaw. maybe you can make out a couple 180s:

https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...0#post23130774

whats interesting is its using the "weak" blu/red 1mm shaft motors from ali. so apparently if you stick enough of them on there it does work out. with s107 or the blk/wht ones its hard to keep the quad from shooting up into the sky. i may need to adjust some throttle curves or expo to compensate but this is not quite as easy on the er9x modded v911 tx as on the original 9x so.... maybe later.

i put another short video up that might be of interest. it shows how spinning one prop causes the other one on the same arm to turn also. this is because one acts like a generator with enough energy to power the other. anyway i thought this little trick was kinda cool. lol!

Thanks for the info Dave!
I just remembered that I don't have the connectors for the V939 board and the HK Mini Plug Extension is on backorder.

Any idea where I can get other connectors/wires? I found these but not sure if they are the right ones..

- Micro JST 2.5 XH 2-Pin Connector
- Micro JST 1.25 2-Pin Connector plug
- JST 2.5 XH 2-Pin Connector Extension Wire

I don't think so. Some of those have different pin spacings. They can't all work.

JST SH 1.0
Molex Picoblade 1.25 (or I guess the Chinese call it JST 1.25)
JST ZH 1.5
JST XH 2.5

I think there is some sort of JST 2.0 also.

Which does the V939 use?

Edit:
Ah, thanks mystman! I was going to guess it was the 1.25 since I heard that's what a lot of HK stuff uses.

Hey man, I was joking - it's only 4$ and it's being sent internationally to Israel so it'll probably take 3-4 weeks until I get it and 2-3 more weeks for you to get it..
If you actually have use for it I'll be happy to mail it to you for free (shipping would cost less than 2$) and you can buy the first round of beers next time I'm in TX

anybody want FIFTY???? i take a lot more care now before hitting that buy now button. it would have been nice to see the look on my face when i opened that bag: "is the world getting bigger or is it me thats shrinking?". lol! maybe they will come in handy if 1.25mm cant handle increased current from the new brushless diy quad.

btw i always refer to them as pz (parkzone) 1.25mm because they and eflite use them on the extremely popular ultra micro models. these connectors are used everywhere else too it seems. even the 808 keyfob cameras. 3 pin version are becoming the standard for micro escs and micro motors.

remember that you can always wire direct as shown in post #1 photo 12a. thats what i did for couple weeks until the pz plugs arrived. i have no patience at all.
