Which size prop? The one in my image? These are the size meant for the stock V939 size (ok so the exact ones in my image are Udi) I think it would depend on how long and how heavy you are running, once airborn ill be lookin into downgrading the size of LiPo to the best balance of weight/runtime I would love to find the formula of extra cell weight/run time lost in extra weight.

Nope I used the 929 props on the 929 motor, but converted to direct drive instead of geared, by inserting a small cf tube "adapter" on the shaft...

Just another question about formulas.. Has anyone figured out if the length of the boom (and motor) affects the carrying weight capability of the quad in any way (if you could keep the weight of the longer boom the same as the shorter boom)

So for example extending the length of the v929 booms by 3 cms and keeping e weight the me as the stock size boom would allow you to carry 3g more for example...

First, Aileron and Elevator are reversed on this TX! You need to cross-change the motor connections.

Binding procedure:
* Switch on v929
* Switch on TX with throttle stick pushed down. You will see a blinking led on the tx an hear a beeping sequence.
* Binding should be finished when v929 led stays red.

Sorry my bad, I didn't read the V9xx properly, I would think the V939 props are too big for 7mm pager in direct drive, maybe something about the size of the S032 main motor night cut it.

Yo. It's 1:50 AM here and I just spent the last 2 hours making up my mind and ordering parts for my brushless take on this. I'm going to document the entire build and give it its own thread when I am done.

Sneak peak -

HK 10g motors (can run 7" props but run cool and generates 124g's EACH with 5030's )
Turnigy 6A ESC's.
GWS 5030 Props
DIY Frame
V929 board

AUW should be well under 100g's. The thrust to weight ratio should make this a blast to fly!

Will keep you dudes posted!

Motor solder connections


Ok so I got my Rx bound to the GW9958 Tx, What's the polarity of the motor pins?


Is the above correct polarity.

Why don't you solder the motors red on red and black on black?
You can easily change the polarity of the sockets on your v929 board (just strip the plastic socket , turn 180į and replug). The plastic sockets aren't glued.

I don't have any plugs, at least I don't think so. Soldering directly to the board is probably what ill do, I've got the motor rotation and blade in the correct places, I'll just try the wires on the moutor out pins and find the polarity.

Board all soldered up.....



Had something resembling a maiden flight, anyone had problems with low throttle cut out? If I have throttle 3/4 or above there is no cut out but anywhere below that he cuts out after about 2 seconds, any ideas?

that is the opposite of the problem most people have in this hobby. if it cut out at high throttle id say your battery was the problem but this is strange. ive never seen that happen. 3/4 throttle is actually 100% on the v929 and below that is where pwm pulse noise is at maximum. so it might be the oddball wiring allowing noise to get to the mcu causing reset. try running 2 wires to each motor and solder directly to the connectors. dont forget to check for shorts. just a theory. what kind of motors are those? try w/o the props or even use leds instead like i did when starting out.

btw i had a chance to test the pwm converter this weekend and it seems to work just fine off both the v929 and v939 boards. i ran an ap02 and an ap03 using a 1 gram esc with 3 servos and response was smooth.

apparently you didnt write v9xx properly either. in sure you meant to say v929 not v939 props are too big.

and archilles, youre full of baloney saying you got v929 props to work dd. they are WAY too big and not only cook the motor but have very little lift. and no way would length of arm add 3 grams thrust or any at all for that matter.

for punishment we will all write "i wont make misteaks on rcg" 100x.

I almost finished my hybrid microquad.
1.motors UDI U816-4pcs
2.Walkera LB propellers.
3.V929 controller,
4.V939 main frame(I'm waiting for V929 main frame )
5.Arms, bamboo sticks(for grilled shrimps) -coated with wood varnish(must) and black heat shrink tube to protect those small wires.
bamboo sticks, drilled 1.5mm holes at one end to pass the wires.One end 3x3mm to fit in U816 motor holder and the other 3x4mm to fit V939 main frame.
6.battery 2pcs 3.7 LIPO 15C -150ma- with DIY special plug.
Waiting for Tgy nano 300mA-45-90C.I heard it is a "beast".
7.Waiting for canopy from BG ,didn't arrived yet.

There are presented two variations for installing V929 board on V939 frame.One more "primitive" V929 controller zip tied on the frame on some packaging foam,and the other smarter ,turned V939 frame upside down with 3M sticky velcro.See pics below.

Total weight= 40 grams
M2M dia =280 mm
Tested and it's working beautifully very stable.Unfortunatelly I don't have enough skills to play with .....enough confidence in me... to post some video...maybe later.
