Graduating from 911, and 9116, need advice

My dad is graduating from a WL 911 and a Double Horse 9116, he is looking for a hobby grade heli that is as easy to fly as the DH 9116, but with better components ( went through a few tail motors and a rotor head on the 9116 ), other than that is was very reliable and very easy to fly. Key features would be easy to fly, durability, fixed pitch, and in the 250.00 price range or under, in a 16" - 24" copter, 2.4 GHz wouldn't hurt either. Thanks Chris

MJX F-45 is a good step up from the 9116.

Agreed. It comes in at about 21', is fairly stable, durable, and around $100

They don't make hobby grade FP helis that match those requirements. Manufacturers are concentrating on flybarless helis now, because they have far fewer parts. THe MJX F45 is the same quality level as the DH9116. Your best bet is a quad.

Walkera V200D01 Brushless FBL heli with Devo TX. Fine flyer and big upgrade on quality. Another V929 Quad.

I was going to suggest the V200D01, but it really doesn't fit the durability or "easy to fly as a DH9116" criteria. It's certainly a big jump in quality though. Any time you increase performance, you decrease stability and increase crash damage potential.

I really dont feel the MJX-45 is an upgrade over the 9116, and it's also not a hobby grade copter.
he flys the 911 and 9116 very well, but would like a significant upgrade over the 9116 that will fly just as well and be as durable. Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming...

Crash and learn
What's wrong with a $200 Walkera V200D01 - it would make the selection easier.

Really, an MJX-F45 may be as close as your going to get.

Get him a quad to play with. A V929 won't cost much and it will give him a chance to see how he likes them.

ONCE YOU HAVE MASTERED THIS SUPER FP, GO WITH THE COLLECTIVE, LIKE THE MINI CP, & YOU SHOULD BE FINE.
