The good part of this and similar threads is that it reinforces the obvious fact that many posters have little or no idea of the basics of 2.4 .

But, 2.4 Ghz is advertised to be "interference free", by more than just one manufacturer!
Don't you fall prey to the Spektrum/spectrum marketing gimmicks, like every one else? |

questions regarding DM9 spektrum
I can understand the hate. With "brown outs" having to use capacitors, with early receivers not compatible with newer transmitters, what is not to hate?
I have a question about my system. I have a JR 9303 with a DM9spektrum conversion module and the AR7010 receiver. At times I turn on the transmitter and then turn on the receiver and get blinking lights on the receivers. At other times the lights are steadily on. In both circumstances the control surfaces work. Is it safe to fly when the receiver lights are blinking? What does the blinking lights mean? If the receivers are hidden inside the model I can't tell whether or not the lights are blinking or solid. Yes, I did bind the receiver. Help!: |

2.4 is interferrence free?
For our purposes - it is very interferrence free Gimmicks? if you understand how it operates (just the basics ) yo ucan easily sort out what is a worthwhile feature and what is just a gimmick Trying to sell "gimmicks is a bad idea - Which features are to you , gimmicks? Please explain why. |

If Spektrum is as popular and well used as suggested - they deserve their own sub-forum. And with assinine threads like this ( Spektrum Fan Club ) clogging things up, maybe it's time. Then the rest of the brands can get on with things and not have 20 different spektrum threads push all others to page 2. |

My experience has been near perfect, but I'm not a sophisticated consumer. I also use and like the Aurora 9, but find the receivers to odd in shape for my smaller kit builds.

the criteria is that a product simply does what it is advertised to do. What is commonly seen here , are issues which arise from users not knowing what the product is supposed to do. Any product will have a certain % of issues which require a remedy. How the user and the seller resolve these issues is critical. My own experiences withSpektrum products has been very positive- problems (all minor) were resolved . The fact that most problems are user caused and in many cases blamed on the product, is unfortunately - all to common. |

This can mean one of three things:
Any time you turn your receiver on and see a blinking light, you should turn your system off and power it up again to get a steady light before you launch, so that you can check the light at the end of your flight to see if there was a problem. Otherwise, the blinking light can't tell you anything useful. |

Clearly you must, as "you" (Spektrum) stay up with, or better the competition.
My DX 8 is amazingly easy to program-now, if it only had a touch screen like my A 9.... |

In the instance of 2.4 radios - there was and still is too much incorrect info and not enough very basic correct knowledge . The numerous posts about battery packs (4.8 bad 6v good) which is basically incorrect - is but one instance. So when a techie tests returned stuff and sees that it works properly -using sufficient power - and sees this over n over - it tends to reinfoce thoughts that the customer made a bad choice in power or power devices . This is not an excuse - --I spent years in another industry where I had to sort out failures from customer errors . It ain't easy. and - The old adage of "the customer is always right" - can only go so far. |
