Did you see the RC car cruising around the track during some of the track and field events. I saw it twice...never did hear anything about why, am curious to know more...

"Miami Mike" failed to notice my differentiation between Spektrum and spectrum. That's the beauty of the written word....I don't have to say a ing thing!

Well, in that case your post was off-topic.

The important point was that the crash in the video you linked to wasn't caused by either a Spektrum or a "spectrum" radio system, it was caused by a battery problem. Your video wasn't just off-topic for this thread, it was off-topic for this forum!

RC cars have been used for quite some time now to return the projectiles in the throwing events (hammers, shots etc).

London Olympics 2012 - Remote Control Mini Cooper RC (0 min 28 sec)

...and seemingly to entertain Usain Bolt between victories! He obviously isn't a Spektrum fan either, he's on 40MHz...

Spektrum needs their own subforum here - so many spektrum threads. It's hard to filter them all out. Or, maybe we need a thread ignore feature for those of us who have no interest in the brand. Then the radio forum would look more diverse - as it should.

Likely it would also be very slow moving with little content.

Thanks MattyB for the link. Guess I wasn't paying that close attention during the games.
