Yes that's right. No need for another battery, but you do need two BECs. One can be from the ESC but another is needed. A Y-cable linking 5V power from RX side to servos is again, a recipe for disaster.

What do you do when your USBASP has a 10 way header ?

I bought a USBASP V2.0 LC technology

KK2.0 has 6 pin header

you need a 10-to-6 pin adapter or cable.
There are a ton of adapters on ebay for about $1-$2...
just search for 'usbasp 10 6 adapter'

Hi guys,
I spent some time yesterday away from OpenAero VTOL to bring OpenAero2 up to the latest fixes and mods. Once I test it myself I will release it as Beta 9.
Then, once you guys are happy with it, I'll release it as OpenAero V1.2. Done.

Here is the change list.

OpenAero2 V1.2 Beta 9
- Hands-free now takes its trigger from the RC deadband setting.
- Autoupdate of CH7 source now less annoying.
- Fixed LVA (battery low) setting and display.
- Fixed bug where the output mixer switcher channel was screwing up the gyro signal distribution.
- Fixed all the missing "const" that annoy some compilers.
- Tweaked throttle high threshold on power-up.
- Factory reset now enterable by pressing just the middle two buttons.

@Happy,
I just realized something...When building OA2 from source, there's no startup splash logo...Where'd it go? Was it removed in order to conserve space? I'd like to re-add it...

I just did an MCU upgrade to the ATMega1284P, so I've got 'plenty of space' & am ready to run a fully-loaded version of OA2

Yes, sadly the splash logo fell victim to the size constraints of the 324P. Some of my development KK@ boards have 644P's with twice the space but there is little point in making a special version just for that.

However, I have spent a while trying to convince HobbyKing to release a 644P-based version. Good things come to those who wait...

Just about to release Beta9. Moments away...

OK folks... V1.2 Beta 9 released

I have tested the bugfixes and basic stuff, but any testing help is much appreciated.
If this goes ok it will become V1.2 (release).

The repo has also been clobbered into submission so that V1.2 beta 9 (r563) is now the latest and the V1.3 branch now continues as OpenAero VTOL.

The .hex file can be found on the first post in this thread.

if so, what's the ETA on it?

I'm not sure what I can say, but it is still being engineered. There are more changes than just the CPU though.

Maybe it's time to ditch the 8 bit platform and start designing 32bit boards with lcd's. Think naze with kk2's lcd screen. Would have been awesome. And it probably wouldn't be that expensive either. The acro naze is already cheaper than the kk2. Just some of my thoughts 😁

It would be awesome. Even if it was a 32-bit AVR chip, but the code porting would be a pain. It's the LCD that differentiates the KK2. Built-in Satellite and S.Bus interface would be nice too. Oh, and smaller
