do u really need to enlarge the cheater ??
that should be a cg problem don't u thing?
i also have this cool hawker (and awefull to build too!)
i use mine on 8cells HEt motor 700-68-1680kv 100A CC and 2 4000mah kypom 4s 35c lipos
flight time with throttle managment is about 5-6 minutes
thrust is about 4.4kg on about 3kg auw
the complete plane is fiberglassed and epoxied removable wings ang carbon key in them , e-retract an alloy struts use a cg a bit forward from original position and no enlarged cheater hole to fly correctly, just a bit enlarged air ducts
take off and landing are just amazing !
everybody might have this one at home!
here's pics

Hi above, it never does any harm to enlarge air intake on this one. Didn't understand your 2nd line, refering to CofG. I had yesterday two more flights in extremely windy conditions using larger capacity batt. and advantage to adjust my CofG probe. After doubling my Elevator travel I get lot more authority now. As someone mentioned, a "Pattern-ship" of jets. I landed it yesty into the wind at walking pace.
That is brilliant flight time, 5-6min. you must be doing lot of wind soaring. Mine draws only 75amps but 3.5min is my limit and that is using 8S4000/40-50C packs. See above pic. what happened to one of my pack on maiden while using only 30C's. These things suck lot of juice from li-pos, J.

no wind soaring man just throttle management
what's your set up?
i use the 700-68-1680kv on 8 s with 4000mah 35c pack
this one is just a good compromise between pretty nice power and flight time

i've calculate FSA and we have just the perfect % for a 90mm with stock cheater and air duct witch is a lil' more than 85%
so i don't think it'll help u the enlarge it
btw as we say here the bigger can do the smaller too ..
good job on this one

I very much agree with you, throttle management is all, what EDF flying is about, but no matter what type of "high performance" EDF I fly, the 3-4min. is just about all I ever get with 8, 10 or 12S set up. So far, I'm pretty pleased with this weird fan/rotor/motor combo I got in this one, yesty had 2 more flights in the windiest conditions and today 2 flights in extreme hot, 35deg. C. everything holding well, tho only 8 flights, time will tell, J.

Almost finished my Hunter today.

I've done it in 8SQN RAF markings, because I found out my Grandfather used to work on them from 1963 to 1965.

I've used E-Flite 15-25 retracts, the stock fan shroud with a Wemo Pro rotor and HK3545-1850kV warhead motor. Static test today gave 77A and 1700watts.

Just need to sort out the nose gear steering, set control throw and balance it. Although I'm not sure the weather will be ready for a maiden until April.

A man with too many toys
I see that HK now has these in stock at the US warehouse. Has anyone built one lately?

Looks like something I could fly from the grass field behind my house. Is it too large to hand launch? Can I land on a short strip or do they float a lot on landing?

Does it fly ok with the stock motor and fan. The motor is listed as B36 1500kv Brushless Outrunner. That seams like a very low Kv for the recommended 5s battery?

Is there a detailed build log of electric retract instillation? What brands would fit?

My build log is here, with some retract info. I used E-Flite 15-25 tricycle retracts.

I fly mine on everything stock, but I use 6s, as I am at altitude. She has plenty of power and on a 5000mah nanotech (35-70c) I am getting excess of 5 minutes flight times

Hi gianni sanchez , Your Hunter looks fantastic. Can I ask you where you found those struts. They look great.

I used this set in the Hunter (and other planes).
Good value.

My Fly Fly Hunter. The main mods were substituting the air retracts from the kit with E-flight 15-25 electric retracts (powered by another separate 350 mah batt just like the RX for safety, will do 4 flights), adding a rudder servo, reinforcing all three landing gear mounts substantially, and swapping the kit fan with a Wemotec Pro, and now with upgraded rotor; the super sounding 11 blade from the Wemotec Evo. One major upgrade was the addition of a Mylar thrust tube, which reduced the takeoff roll by almost half!

The motor is a HET, with CC 85HV, battery is 6s1p 5000mah, flight time 5 mins.

Paint scheme is modelled after '527' parked at the Republic of Singapore airforce Museum. I did it freehand with Tamiya spray cans.

The Hunter is a real pussycat to fly. Just like a pattern plane.
