For what's worth, here is a video of the Profi .061 older version:

Profi .061 zero nitro. (0 min 22 sec)

Those engines are simply awesome. The first time I cranked a Norvel .061 with an APC 5-1.2x2 prop, I had to resist the urge to dive under the table, and that was at 28K RPMs. That's when I got really serious about balancing my props.

Since we're on the subject I have some questions; Is a Cyclon the name of an engine made by Fora, or are they two different companies? Where are they made? And is Profi another manufacturer? I've just lately become interested in super high performance engines.

all three are different. some are Russian, some are Ukrainian. Im not really sure which.

The fora and cyclon LOOK alike, but I believe it is the fora that is a bit of a copy.

heres a good site with some info:

Thanks for the link. I was looking around it and found my NIB MP Jet .061 PB is now obsolete. I need to build a plane to mount it on. It's still on the break-in stand.

The needle on it is closer to the prop than any other engine I have. I still have a pink patch on my knuckle to remind me of it. It was the coolest looking prop cut I ever saw, 25 parallel lines in a row. From the RPMs I could calculate exactly how long my thumb was on the tip of the prop.

I mostly fly AMA gas and some F1J locally. I have a couple of decent running Cyclons, one .049 that turns close to 29K and a really good .061 that turns almost 33K. How do the Profi and Fora engines stack up?

I have not run my .049 Fora yet. The needle seems like the threads were done sloppily, but otherwise it looks good.
