I just got back from the field after flying the Waco. I flew 4 flights and had a great time. I just love the way this plane just gently lifts off the runway at about 60% throttle. I keep just about 15% throttle on while landing, and she drops on to the mains and rolls out beautifully. I just love this plane.

I caved today too. My first bi-plane and it looks like a great one! Glad I found Grayson Hobby. I like that they are Veteran owned and operated, they carry Dynam and they're close to me so I should receive my orders in a day or two. Really looking forward to this one!

Parkstormer!
Finally getting around to putting mine together (family stuff got in the way--you know how it is). What pilots are people putting in theirs? None of the pilots in my existing "possibles" boxes are sized appropriately. I'll need something with a '30s look, of course.

Went through the thread want to ask how hard is it to get to the ESC I want to replace the connectors, I did see a little on the subject
Does a pilot come with the kit if not which pilot are you using? The two photos showing one looked good to me and the right size, size do you think this 1/6? Any recommendations on a pilot I was thinking of the one at Maxford USA.
Yes I agree this looks to be a fine bird for the fleet this will be the fourth bi-plane
Thanks

Here!

Ordered Monday showed up on Wednesday!
Any thoughts on wiring up lights? Did not expect them and no info on hook up.
Thinking of using servo connector and plugging into spare channel, only using + and - wires.

Looks are fantastic and quality seems top notch for $130 plane almost ready to go!
Any concerns on servos? Dynams Pitts had some reported elevator/rudder failures.
Now is time to do if necessary.

Those flying what size battery are you using, IE does it need some weight up front that would suggest maybe a 3500 Ma battery???

Started assembly, still looking for best choice of battery.
Found one of top wing stiffeners was not glued, same for back canopy.
started painting with clear coat of polyacrylic tried semi-gloss but it showed up defects went to S

Any thoughts on reinforcing hinges! Already looking weak after a few flexings?
May try some hinge tape like biotherm.

I'm using Turnigy 5S 4000mah packs and am getting 10 to 12 minutes flight time and in a 13 mph wind she just leaps off the ground!
I've had over 50 RC aircraft in my day and this is my all-time favorite

Where's the "like" button? are you running that 5s on the stock ESC? Has anyone run any amp draw numbers with the 5s and the stock setup?

Have you taped hinges? That is the only mod that seems necessary from initial look over.
Assume you had to do some trimming to get 5s pack in!
I am more interest in scale flight so 4S will probably be fine.
Any experience with Sky Blue packs??

Wasn't too impressed with performance on stock 12x6 prop with a Nanotech 3000 4Cell 35C . Threw on an APC 12x8 which made a big difference with no increase in amps/watts. It now has unlimited vertical and can even easily hold a knife edge on full throws. I love this plane, out of the 8 Dynam planes I own, this is my favorite.

12x6 Dynam stock prop - 31 amps/450 watts
12x8 APC - 30 amps/445 watts

I will test an APC 13x6 prop when it arrives.
