I checked it over after getting home and everything looked good. No loose parts. I did go ahead and installed the BEC I bought just to play it safe. At least if the ESC fails, I will be able to get back down safely. Can't wait til tomorrow. Last good flying day in my area for awhile.

BTW, I found exact replacement motor shafts for $3, OEM motors for $25 and OEM dummy engine was ~ $5 at Grayson Hobby.
No, I just did the scallops with a black marker, outlined in red and then I outlined the red with a thin black line leaving a 1/8 yellow between the thin black line and the 1/4 red! I'll shoot a couple pics this weekend and post them!
A comment on cooling... the exits for airflow must be bigger than the inlets or it just doesn't work well at all
Dan
PS Now you got me goin, I'm going to scallop the tail feathers too!

Can anyone recommend an appropriate pilot for our Waco?

I used the one that goes with the E-Flite Stearman, might be a little small but looks good

I never would have guessed that bottled Oxygen was used in SE 5a's.

I have a few pilots which should look the job. I plan to rotational cast them in resin (like Williams Brothers pilots -- hollow inside). I ordered the mold material and will keep you posted how it turns out.

Thanks for the suggestions. I went with this guy http://hangar-9.com/Products/Default...ProdID=HAN9108 It looks like he will fill the space nicely. I seriously thought about this one too http://hangar-9.com/Products/Default...ProdID=HAN9103 she looks the part, I thought, but she seems a bit too small. I used this photo to gauge the size. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...D994C1D9A94F9A

We'll see how it goes.
