The thread is about a foamy glider. Why try to start trouble?

Just curious. You're going to be a very busy guy if you try to keep this strictly on topic!

It's not my thread, so I don't have to do anything, but I suspect your comment will be gone. The OP already asked once, nicely, to keep it on topic. You're not curious, you're trying to get an emotional response out of someone. If you're curious, send a PM.

I wasn't able to tell. I'm going to hold off on that for now. The thing flies great as-is. I guess if I was planning to load it with a lot of gear it would be worth swapping out the spar to save some weight.

What is the diameter and length?

Here is a source for FG and CF tubes in a variety of sizes.

Wow, theirs weighs only 90 grams if you're willing to give up 1.25" in length. That's a significant savings but would it be strong enough?

If you're going to change it try to find a solid carbon fibre rod of the correct length (the original fibre glass rod is too short anyway), perhaps two issues can be solved in one hit

I think it would as it fits into another cf tube in each wing half.
If it were me I would do it and save almost 8 oz of weight.
Plus that weight is right over the cg.

You may have to buy a 60" tube to get that length. The problem with that is that shipping will be high because it is over-size. It would be cheaper if you could get by with a 48" tube.

You could upload to YouTube and then post the link.

Can anyone comment about how this plane behaves as a glider? Will it thermal?

Haven't glided much yet but with flaps full down it doesn't seem to ever wanna come down. Nice predictable flight pattern love this thing for FPV it's the bomb!
