Acro Wot MkII
Hi,
Just got hold of a new Acro Wot MkII, now, the question is, how in gods name do you fit the fuel tank? all there is, is a hole, the pic shows you pushing it in, but how far, if it goes past the ply it literally falls around inside the plane, as there are no supports anywhere, it does not say whether it does that, or you leave it partially half way in the hole, or do you simply get in it there and pack round it with something to hold it in one place ?? cheers cause am at a slight loss here lol |

Dave,
Just use foam to pack it into position, preferably the type that doesn't absorb too much liquid. I built the original Acrowot in 1986 but I don't think it came with a tank so I just had to improvise. Some tanks will hold in place through the firewall if you drill the correct size hole. You put the neck of the tank through then tighten up the centre screw and it will grip there on the rubber bung. It's still a good idea to hold the body of the tank in place though. A. |
