Tri-Quad-Hexa-Octo-copters!!
Gents,
FWIW....With larger multicopters it is actually desired that the arms break sacrificially to absorb shock on those "hard-landings" so that the shock to the flight controller is reduced. Not sure how that applies to these lighter micros, but I do know it takes quite a bit of impact to break or green-stick the 3mm hollow arms. Otherwise they are fine. Mine seem to be pretty robust and long lasting on the Ladybird and U816 which both use the hollow 3mm CF tubes. I do all my flips over soft grass and never concrete, so that probably helps survivability too Although seemingly insignificant, an extra 2g of weight is about 10% of the AUW for these micros, so any added weight does make a negative difference in performance...and the heavier they are the harder they fall
Cheers,
Jim

OK, I have a WL toys V949 on the way. It's RTF as that is the only way to get this new UFO style light up one right now. I know I can bind it to my 9x but the question is, how about the light function. The stock Tx has a button toggle, I wonder if it's on a standard channel on the standard Tx protocol. I wonder if for once I will be the one that reports new information, unless someone already knows...

That's what I thought, the lights function are not on standard Flysky protocol. Good thing I got the RTF. Course I have an MQx so this is for night flight.

But have you tried playing with channel 5 and 6, knob and switch? Might just be on one of those.

Do stuff that appear on alibaba all eventually end up available on aliexpress? And how long does it usually take?

I wish I had a 3D printer. Seems like the perfect compliment to the quadcopter hobby.

Guys, we really need to compile a list of direct drive quads that may be susceptible to motor damage due to crashes causing the prop shaft pushing the motor cap off. For those that don't have built-in protection, you can make it yourself:

That looks like the Snelflight Jumpjet, came out quite a few years ago. Chinese clones were selling for about $50 at one time (real ones $100).
