That's as fast as my 2040 4800kv Cat will go!
Hi all, haven't been on the forum much latelty - been really busy with a change in work circumstances. Anyway, I've finally had a chance to iron out all the bugs with the drivetrain on my small custom built cat. I have been running it at a nearby lake which has plenty of space to open it up (now that's it's mid-winter here in south oz).
It bounces a bit but it seems to run OK and for the tiny motor and relatively heavy boat (1.1kg) I'm pretty happy with the speed. I ran it the previous day in fairly windy conditions with chop on the lake and it was pretty much the same (not into the wind at full speed obviuosly). Hasn't flipped since going to the flex drive and Octura strut.
My build thread on this boat:
Onto the next project now. I'll move up to something a little larger on 2 x 3S, running a single Leapord, ARC or Turnigy motor - custom design again, this time some a bit more radical...
