Dive, wing collapse, lawn dart. Yippee!

I guess I put this trainer through all it could handle today. I've been steadily progressing with my aerobatics, but this time on a dive out of a nice vertical roll sequence the wing folded and this plane became an excellent lawn dart. No video, but a photo of the aftermath. Fortunately all electronics including the motor seem to be OK. The damage is a bit too much to repair and expect any decent flying. It's clear I'm ready for the next step anyway, so I guess I'm on the quest for my next ARF project, perhaps a mid wing sport plane.

Sorry to see the carnage, but at least you can blame this one on structural failure. May I suggest the 3D Hobby Shop 47" Extra 300 SHP as a wonderful mid wing sport plane. When set up with reduced control throws and a conservative (slightly nose heavy) center of gravity, she is very easy to fly and virtually unbreakable in the air. You will not fold a wing on a 3DHS bird.

I'm a sport flyer and just put flight #349 on my old 47" SHP a few days ago. She still flys just as good as she did on day one.

What mah is the battery? And how many amps is your ESC rated for? See if you like this plane

thanks Addict, I had considered the mini Pulse even before today's mishap.

I'm not completely sure that your motor would fit, but a Park 450 is not too expensive, and you could easily set this plane up with some of your gear for maybe $200. The 9g servos would work just fine, and an ESC is cheap on hobbyking, get a Turnigy Plush 40 amp, and you will be able to use it in bigger planes in the future. I assume your battery is a 2200? If it is you are set

I would recommend a pa addiction for that set up, it's a great plane to learn 3d and is pretty tough for balsa.
