if you are a good pilot, you could make a pusher jet like an f18 or f16 or f15

It depends what kind of skills you have.

If you never made a working plane before, you could buy an airframe for $30-40 or the just the foam parts.

Vapor airframes can be had for $40. If you've never had one of those, they are great fun with a J-3 motor and one of the few planes you can actually fly in your house.

One of my favorite planes for outside in the calm was the Parkzone citabria. The foam can probably be bought for $30, and with a J-3 motor and 8 grams less weight, it will fly circles around a J-3.

i have built countless foam planes and I am almost done with my second balsa plane so im a pretty competent builder. I would prefer to build a light balsa plane but would have no problem building anything. The only requirements would be that it can only fly off rudder and elevator control plus slow and stable enough to fly in a sizeable backyard.

That's impossible. The prop screws on one way.

The J-3 Brick will support a Mustang motor (2.0Amp ESC), so someone could use a Mustang Motor & Gearbox and use a Mossy Reverse rotation prop for a pusher set up.

J-3 Motors are the best 6mm motor available, & lots of people want them for Vapor upgrades, so it has trading value.

If you are going to make a 3 Channel biplane, you need to makes sure you have dihedral in the wings or it won't want to turn without ailerons.

Your best bet is a mid to high wing plane, or a "non aerobatic" biplane, with dihedral.

The Liddle Bug would be an excellent choice. Quick to build, and a fun, relaxing flier, perfect for the back yard.
