Any one running Corona with Dave Drive and Astro 020?

I am running this combo on 7 cells (300 NiMH). I find that I have to use about 3/4 throttle now to hover. I used to be able to hover on my geared system with around 1/3 throttle or less. I also find my flight times have gone down as well. I think all of this is due to the incorrect gear ratio on the motor to main shaft. Dave said he would send me out a new pinion to try that, I believe, will increase the gear ratio. I have also orderd a couple 8 packs of gp 3300 cells to try (will use these to just start playeing with my ehawk conversion).

Can anyone running the same combo as me comment?

Thanks,
Brendin

P.S. The Dave Drive with one-way is really niice!

I just checked and it looks like I can only pull about 2800Mah of useable hover with this config on the 3300Mah cells.

I run that combination and I love it on 7-cell, matched GP3300 packs. I have an 8 cell pack too but it seems like too much power. I'm also running with the higher (numerically) gear ratio belt system. Depending on various conditions, I typically use up about 3300-3400 mAhr and get between 14-15 minutes of flying.

To be honest, I don't remember but I do know that the drive pulley has one less tooth than his standard configuration and that it puts me at a slightly higher ratio than the gear drive.

Guys-
I am pretty sure Lance is using the 12:1 ratio. The drive pulley would be 10 tooth. I am also pretty sure that is what I sent to Brendin.

Brendin-
You might want to look at the belt tension too.. You want to have the belt as loose as possible without it skipping. It is a very subjective measurement, so it changes a lot from person to person.

Try loosening the belt. On mine, if I squeeze the belt a little, it will delfect about 1/4 inch.

Also make sure it is tracking correctlly, if not, you will lose a fair amount of power there..
