Interested to see what it costs. After the release of the x50 and then making sure the x50e came out FBL, you'd think they would go the same direction with this. FBL from the start.

plastic and more plastic.. this is why ALIGN is the king, you don't need upgrades with the lastest kits and they are cheaper than TT

Yes plastic but wait till the prise is out. That head looks so old school. I like where the motor and battery is so long as most batteries fit.

huh not bad for some one just getting in to the hobby
it would compete with the T-rex 500E
if the price is right could be a winner

It says made of plastic mold frames and then it says made of carbon but the pic is clearly carbon. BEC is rated at 3 amp!
Lets wait till there is a few revies on it.

the Trex 500E is 425mm main blades, this one is 550mm
it would be nice a X50E with 550 blades and shorter tail boom because many people cannot afford 10S or 12S lipos for the X50E on 3D flight mode.

with a crap kit like this 550E which is a Raptor 30 with electric motor they just get a huge profit margin they don't care for their customers needs this is why ALIGN is the king. anyway I hate TT combos, they wish we pay for that chinese blades and junk gyro

you cant just look at blade size here this heli is CLEARLY meant for newbs getting in on the cheap which is the same market the 500E is aimed at as is the Blade 450 3D
if the Outrage 550 was still on the market it would be in the same market as well

cheap to buy cheap the fly cheap to fix
again its for people just getting started and for that its not bad but price is factor if it in the 600 range its not a bad deal more then 750 and no one will buy it

looks good

If the head and tail is the same as the 30/50 then this could be a way to get a heli back into the air relative cheap for me.
So mainframe and gears/ levers and i am sorted.

so lets wait and see

btw i am just a recreation flyer and my raptor 30's (yes v1) still suit me fine plastic frames, wooden blades and all,.
The only thing now is parts support ; finding v1 frames and spindel is starting to become a issue

Hi all

Does anyone know the main differences between the E550S combo and the old E550 Ultra combo. All the servos and gyros look the same. I was wondering if there were any major differences in the heads or chassis?

cf blades are overkill for my flying style

While i agree that cf blades improve 3d, and fast flight, most of what i do is hovering at about 6 feet high with a relative low head speed.

Call it boring but i see it as a form of meditation to keep the heli exactly in one place.
If my focus start to wonder off so does the heli.
Cf blades would barely have any influence in these flights.

In all those years i had 4 crashes that required changing parts; one was a first generation tail failure so that has been changed to the newer (raptor 60) version.

Once i run out of woodies (have 4 spare pairs) then il might change go glass main blades but by that time i also might have upgrade the head to v2 (can't get the v1 spindles).

So yea i am happy with my current setup just the added option of going electric might be nice

i find wood a pain they can warp, have to be balanced, and covered and glued
fiber glass imo flex worse then wood and are to hard to break

carbon fiber just seems to the right thing to make blades out of
stiff but break in a crash saving other parts of the like like the servos and motor
most good brands are pretty well balanced out of the box at lest Align, Rail, Edge, and Compass are that i have seen first hand
