Depron Boeing 737-500 twin 40mm edf

Been abit busy recently, not had too much time on my hands the odd hour been designing etc, So heres the result, got my boxes sorted for shipping some planes out, so i've arranged my drawings and parts to fit on the sizes to slot right in the box.

while cutting i had a few set backs, my cutting tool snapped, so had to recut some parts. A few parts need changes but this is the prototype they will do for this build.

I'm going to be trying something new with holding the wings on. Im going to try magnets, As this is an airliner not to much loading on the wings to pull them off hopefully

The md80 has still not flown due to weather, as it seems to be nice when im at work and when off its windy or raining also im not happy the way i did the wing retention, so ive redesigned it to be the same as this with the magnets. so i will be rebuild a md80 again.

I saw a recent design from eflite a cessna i believe that uses magenets to hold the wing so its worth a shot.

Thanks for the kind words guys, i follow all your builds and you all do awesome work.

well for starters i will be recutting some of the 737 parts later today, i left my machine running and it must of lost 1 or 2 steps as parts are not correctly fitting, so im redoing the gcode to make sure there was no errors when i set it up.

I have just slotted the edf housing to make sure it fits together as this was my biggest problem of keeping it scale looking and to fit the 40mm edf.

Ive also adjusted the drawing for the rudder as ive re-done it so it can be cut out or left it place if you wish not to have it. I have left the whole model to scale from the boeing drawings so nothing has been enlarged only the wing profile is not scale.

Hopefully the 737 should sit low to the ground like the full-size

I hope to get this model built and flown as so as i can, as the weather is soon to pick up. Then i can hopefully ship some kits out.

Brett

thanks demondriver, before i cut out the 737 again, i thought i would try the wing with the edf housing on, need to adjust the mount to be lower for the sheeting.

Apart from a few things up, its not looking to bad

I agree totally! Your mini-depron kits are affordable to most if not all builders. . .in the UK eaurope and everywhere!

Pending price, I'd be apt to consider a kit... And with DD's support, you know who to turn to in times of trouble. Keep up the good work!

That was my aim, I have always wanted an airliner, been flying since i turned 15 saw one flying at cosford large model show all those years ago i wanted one from that moment, now im 28 i can build it if i want it. and i can share it with others that have my passion

The problem i have i always design it then see another way i could of done it then im not happy with the way ive done it so i want to do it again

hopefully spending to day redesigning this i will cut it out and everything should fit and it should be the way i wanted it to look

I will be building big like you demondriver your planes look so good i love the finishes that you get on your models, but i dont have the skills to make fibreglass noses like you and others but i can make depron into those shaped no problem

p.s this is next to come

That beautiful frame needs an ultra lightweight molded fiberglass skin to cover it with. Imagine that with a perfect finish. 1 layer of 1 oz cloth, real thin and light

Love the size, as DD knows I can't handle the 90-incher! I don't have the Demon "Good Times" van...
