I would Strap it on first and get teh C of G right before you cut. The C of G in the manual is conservative, mine is around 125mm now.

125mm measured from where?

I am forward like JC, even a little more forward but I have my RX and some of the light kit wired behind the CG so that would make sense.

So you guys are cutting holes in the top. Any difference in flight characteristics as opposed to the side?

Supposedly it helps with lateral balance.

Interesting, makes sense. I would think the ESC on one side and batt on the other would kinda even each other out.

Its EPP MIGHT AS WELL CUT LOL. Freg the velcro did enough damage to the paint.

Might be worth mentioning that I am running a 78g 1000kv A2810 motor with APC 12x6.

It flies very precise at the moment and I have been thinking about moving the CG rearward to see if I can make it a little more floaty and easier to hover.

Just came back from my second day of flying this machine after a break due to weather. I adjusted my ailerons to align with the carbon slats. I am very satisfied with this model. It is a locked in type flyer, with great confidence down low and slow. It excels in KE, snaps and inverted flight. I am most impressed!

Here you go...

My cutout starts at 105mm from the nose.

My CG is at 110mm but as I stated previously, I am going to move it rearward.

It flies great precision currently.

What are the rest of you set at for pure 3D thrills?

ESC and Brake

I have my plane all togeather now , but can't figure out how to get dern 100 Gm motor and TH 45 amp esc OFF OF BRAKE ?
I printed out the sheet that TH has with the ESC but duh - no luck and it is on "soft" start as well
After binding , I went thru the normal set up of the motor and Tx routine

So, I ordered a Programming Card from TH

Tom...

The programing card is certainly the easiest. If having to do via the transmitter, I believe that you can only set one item at a time, ie you will have to cycle through all the settings seperately for each item you want to change.

With the 100g motor I like the APC style 12x3.8sf props. The electric props are nice too, they are a little more efficient, but I prefer the slower speeds and increased prop wash. I have tried lots of different props with the 100g motor, I will round up some of the info gathered and post something here tonight or tomorrow for those interested.

Depends on what motor you are using.

I am running a Suppo 78g A2810 1000kv w/ 12x6 APC-E on 3S 1800 Nanotechs.

If you are running the Twisted 78g A2810 1100kv motor, you may not be able to go larger. An amp meter will tell the story.
