Flyzone Micro Nieuport 17

Found this listed at Tower H ,

Great to see them expand the micro WW1 plane line .
The Dr1 flys GREAT for me , and it will be nice to add the Nieuport 17 allied plane to chase the two Fokkers with

If it's as fragile as the Dr-1 no thanks. My Dr-1's are F.O.R.D. s (Fix Or Repair Daily) if you can fly daily. They fly great but don't land worth a darn. Can't tell from picture but looks suspiciously like the same flimsy landing gear.

I'm on board. Love their Albatross DV and the DR.1. Would like to see a Camel/Spad/ or SE-5 too.

I vote for the Pup. Or if they wanted to branch into the WW2 era the Fairey Swordfish bomber. But a Pup would be awesome.

Forget the Pup. Electrifly already makes a nice ARF of 30 inch span and 8 oz. weight. No ailerons.

Looks nice, but also nearly identical to the Albatross (which I already have in my hangar) I know, I's a different plane, but the overall look is nearly a mirror image.

Yes I know , its one of my favorite 250 size slow flyers , and thats why I can dream of a micro Sopwith Pup that would fly like that also

Nice choice, I was expecting an S.E.5a from them to be honest. @ Ben, landing problems? Never had an issue with either the Albatros or the Dr.1, inside or out. In fact shooting touch and go and one wheel figure eights in the Armory is one of my favorite things to do with mine.

I got one

I received this plane three days ago from tower hobby. I also got the any link module with it. The Any link was the main reason for buying the plane. I have an old 7cap radio that was not being used. I also liked the looks of the Nieuport 17. I thought that it was the best looking plane that Flyzone has come out with in their Micro Series. For $79 and a free Any link module, It seemed a good Value. I plugged the Module in to my Futaba, bound it to the Nieuport, and was good to go. I flies great in little to no wind. Great purchase for the indoor season. My 2 Cents! (plus shipping and handling.)

Theres another thread on this plane

Thanks Don. I'll take a good look at that. But I think I still prefer the dedicated transmitter. My Dx8 model memory is full anyway. Hopefully someone will answer my trade posti.

Got another flight in this morning.
Super fun and beautiful to boot!

Bee-ware of the HUN-ibee in the sun!

Took forever to teach the bee to fly formation like that

The restof the photos are HERE.

And here's a quick hat-cam video
N17 2 (2 min 24 sec)

Too bad I had to steal the Tx from my Dr1 to fly the Nieuport, we could have had a dog-fight video!

That is indeed a nice looking plane; much nicer looking I think than the Albatross. I agree with Ben though. I hope it isn't as fragile as the Albatross. Mine sits in a box because I got sick of repairing it. Oh, it flies great, but bringing it in for a landing is a crap shoot. I don't think I have ever put it down, even gently in grass, that the thing hasn't broken something. Looks nice, but I'll pass. My other Flyzone planes are great though. I have their Cessna 182 Skylane SS and have two of their Focke-Wulf FW 190 SS models. They are great planes. I wish I could say the same of my Albatross.

I recently got this plane. It doesn't seem that fragile to me (this is my first Hobbico-brand micro though), but the prop is fragile, and I was disappointed to find out that it is GLUED onto the shaft, instead of threaded. And, it doesn't look like the body is designed to easily get to the inside at all... I think you'd have to break the wing struts off the fuselage, at the very least.
