Yeah, I think since it's an epp plane it will have a better chance in a crash, maybe you can destroy this one a couple of times.

Fly More Crash Less

Now I am thinking about getting the extra because of the sale and it is a larger air frame but I think the Edge would be better with the Genesis light kit I have. Plus I already have two edges the 41 and the 48 and with no extras in the hanger. Decisions Decisions.

Do not get the extra!!! The extra's ailerons flex with anything high speed, so will other control surfaces, so with the extra you can't really do anything at high speed with it. Trust me I know because I had one.

I don't think the 40" edge will have the same problem as the 48" because the edge is less mass and not as much aileron, so don't get the extra if you like full throttle blenders and such things. Either get the 40" when it comes out or don't get the 40" wait for a flight report on how it flies or just get another balsa, that 46" yak has my eye.

Yeah, the extra is not good at fast violent things. I will be selling my extra to get this.

Yeah, and the extra is a good flying plane but you can't expect to do any high speed 3d maneuvers.

My hovercraft is full of eels.
Keep in mind, this plane is like... 90% foam. It's going to flex somewhere. No matter how much carbon and wood you shove into it, it's going to flex and bend because that's what EPP and depron foams do. To make things worse, a hot day or ride in a hot car makes them even more flexible.

This Edge has a much smaller elevator compared to the Extra so it won't flex as much but if you are doing full speed crankshafts and pop tops over and over, something is eventually going to give. It's going to bend and flex and if you push it too hard, it could break... possibly in flight... like Wamsy's.

Here are the videos of Wamsy's prototype with Aurora LEDs.

Probably...I just don't buy from hobby king, check and see if anybody used it in the 41" and 42" planes.

It's not you. The elevator is tiny on this plane compared to the wing. That's all it needs though and it reduces the flexing that many people complain about on the Extra during high speed maneuvers. It has a very short tail and is just insane to fly compared to my 40" Sbach of similar build.
