Now we have two complete sides.

At this point I was thinking...... I have a fuselage template. So I laid the fuse side down on a piece of luan plywood and traced the outline. I may use that on a later project to make a fuse from scratch.

With the two sides complete, now they have to be joined. The fuse sides are turned upside down on the fuse plan and pinned in place. Then you start adding cross members to tie the two sides together.

I'm doing a tail dragger so I put in a plywood plate for the gear to mount to. I may add some more supports after I see exactly where the gear will bolt in.

Most of the fuse is now complete. This side template will come in handy one day. I need some tail feathers to put the final pieces in the fuse and get everything aligned just right.

Guess I'll just have to build some....

My rudder did not turn out as good as I would like. The piece of wood for the rudder trailing edge was not symmetrical. It came out kinda warped.

Stab is the same thing. A razor saw and miter sander come in handy for all those angle cuts.

I used some scrap to block up the TE of the elevator so it won't come out like the rudder. Other kits I have built used different material for the TE of all control surfaces.

Finished stab and elevator. I made the area where the control horn goes a little wider.

I added some more braces to the LG mounting plate. Wish I had a little taller set of gear. CF would be nice.

Starting to look like an airplane.

How about some pics of your night flyers? I have to make the final decisions on colors soon. I am leaning toward mostly white covering lit from inside, with red and green strips on the wings and tail.

The bones look beautiful

I agree with your instinct to use white. For my night flyers, I prefer to use a solid white covering on the top and usually a transparent colored covering on the bottom. The effect is that it looks like any other plane during the day, but at night the white covering reflects the colors of the LEDs you used. The transparent bottoms also can be fun because not only do they allow you to show off the frame underneath, but they also play tricks with the LED lights and reflect different colors differently.

Here are some of my Addiction X-
