Thanks heli_
I do think all that work was worth it.
BTW, your HS-129 is first rate! Been watching it, that cannon is amazing!

My other glaring error was fixed today. I kept looking at the camo line on the front of the fuse and it just looked bad to me. Got the pics out( yep, a little late) and found the the way it should look. So I repainted them. Now I like it a lot better.

Also finished the bottom black. All the base colors are on now. Have a little overspray problems to fix, nothing major though.

Time to switch airbrushes and start on the weathering and accents. That will take some time.

Started on the fuse front. Not quite done. Went ahead and sealed the canopy, couldn't help myself and peeled off the masking.

Oh, to live vicariously through the work of the master modeller...

If I had like, oh, I dunno, 1/10th of your skills....

Check out the Corsair that Dionysus posted (Post 9994) on the Show your Electric Warbirds thread you started way back when....looks like he's been peeking at some of your build threads

There's so much talent here in RCG it's absolutely mind-boggling.

I was just sitting here thinking how ironic it was that Howard Hughes spent so much time and money to get rid of rivits and panel lines on the HR1 and here we are going out of our way to make them. Awesome work John.

Yep, the rivets really help the canopy.

Thanks John,
That Corsair IS very nice, I checked that out.

Have to admit, glad I took you up on the rivets, it does really help the overall look. Really didn't take that long either.

Walt and I were just talking about you the other day. Where have you been son?
You need to get your SEFF build going in order to have enough time to finish, don't you?

I just watched The Aviator again the other day, great movie. He was a genius, weird as hell but a genius none the less.

Thank you. If you're like me, besides maiden, this is the most exciting part of the build. Can't wait to get decals on it but the gunships didn't have that many.

I'm trying to replicate the 52-911. It flew the last gunship mission before they were all turned over to the VNAF, what a waste.
I have and will take liberties with it though. I have some nose art that I want to use just because it's cool looking and it will make the model "pop" some more.
Some of the gunships had nose art for awhile but they found that it helped the NVA spot them at night. So off came the nose art. The 52-911 didn't have any, at least later on in it's life, and the one I'm using is off another gunship. But an artist can take his liberties, no?

Today will be yet more weathering and accents. At least we are now in the home stretch. I was figuring it would take till Xmas and it looks like that estimate won't be that far off.

Well I looked a few words up and here is what I come up with..

Hey John that bird sure is wonderful and an excellent show of craftmanship. it is the one of the best builds you have done and is truly awesome. It is the cats meow and some may say a marvelous, far out, first class, out of this world, primo, sensational, superb, unreal demonstration of model building skills.

Nice work.
