Cool. I like the lollipop formers; nice way to handle that part.

Thanks Pat, wish it were my idea. That one came from my buddy. Works well.

Thanks Matthew,
Really not looking forward to my first experience with pneumatics but we all have to learn someday I guess.

The stab and boom installation is underway and going well so far. Pics later.

Nothing like some early morning landing gear doors to start the day ;-)

Looks super John.

So... you are making the H-stab, mid-wing section and booms all one piece? I guess I never put that together. I SOOOOOO do not envy you right now.

It actually went very well today. I'm happy. I have the top just about finished and will take it off the fuse tomorrow, turn over and work on the bottom nacelle/wing junction.
Took some pics, hard to get decent ones, too big to get into my little Point & Shoot lens.

Thanks Buzz, Rafster, rawy

To tell the truth, less than two weeks ago I was starting to panic. That is when it finally sunk in to me that there was no way to finish this beast by Vegas. At least not to finish it right. My new friend who was a FE on the 119s has given me so much help on the details that it will take quite awhile, maybe a month just to do them right and paint it. And there are a few things I want to try during the painting process that it just doesn't make any sense to rush it.
So I have gone to my happy place now realizing I don't have to have it completely done, just flyable.
So that is the plan, maiden it at Vegas, bring it home and take my time detailing and painting it. Don't get me wrong, I still have a bunch to do to it before it is flyable but at least I have 30 days to do it. Plus I need some time to get the other planes ready too.
So if everything goes well, it will fly at Vegas in primer this year and in full paint and detail next year. It should make SEFF and Vegas next year.
Today I am removing the huge center section( it's huge now because there are booms attached to it!) and flop it over so I can finish the bottom fillets on the H stab and nacelles. At least it should be mobile now and a little easier to work on.
Then there is a TON of sanding on them before I can call them done.
I might steal some time to work on a few other things on it too. Making all these fillets gets pretty boring after awhile.

Now some people would call this a FM 622A Command Radio Antenna.
Not so.

Hey John, I'm noticing a new trend for you since being gone for a while: you are building MUCH bigger planes. I love it! I'm excited to be able to watch another of your builds while it's still going on. Looks great so far!
