A-6 Intruder Profile, Kf-2 PLANS
Here's my second model design, and plans. This one is a profile of the A-6 Intruder. I've included outlines for a Kf-2 airfoil if you would like to use one
Hope this is good. Let me know what you think. Hardware specs, as with any decent parkjet: 2200kv, 6-8in prop and a 1000mAh battery should do good. CG is about 70mm from the front end of the rear part of the fuselage when assembled. I've included a JPEG of the location. If you do want the CAD plans PM me or fire an email to sugas182@gmail.com Cheers |

If it's integrity still bothers you then you could cut out the motor and prop slot more towards the Kf. Although I have to agree with you that is the weakest point in the structure. a small 3mm wood towel or CF tube (whatever your fancy) underneath that should help too. I wish I could build this and show, but as I said in my last post I don't have much in the way of money of my own. kinda sucks but Ah well I'm doing my bit for the RC community :-) P.S. hope this answers your question :-) |

disregard what? I didn't quite get you. dedStik and roo_ster: tell you what, I'll make some revisions and post the revised plans in the same thread? Also PM me your email ids and ill send you the sketchup plans if you guys would like to tweak them yourself. :-) how does that sound? I'll upload the revisions as soon as I can in the morning. |

I like it. The "weak-spot" is a problem. My 1st own-design was a Mig-15 slot jet, but how do you ensure fuse strenght when a prop cuts all the way thru it?
I used a 4" prop with 4000kv motor so the prop fits inside the fuse hight. Then re-enforced the fuse top & bottom with bamboo skewer... I would move the prop forward to get the max available fuse hight, use small prop & skewer top/bottom. Doing the same again on a "sort-of" BAE HAWK. This time a low-wing with top-only bracing.... 3500kv heli 2218 with 5.2" apc Loud but fun... |

georgy,
You're right, I don't seem to have taken the strength issue into account. And to think I had finally made a beautiful design :P I like your idea and what you've done with the MiG and the Hawk. I'll definitely incorporate them and take more care towards the structure in the future plans The MiG looks really beautiful. Do you mind mailing me the plans? I'll make it for sure once I'm finally able to. I'm trying to work on designs for an A-1H Skyraider and/or a Bucc. Which one would you suggest? Cheers Suhas |

Hi Suhas,
The Mig was done from 3-view, so no plans sorry. If you want i can try & help you to do one. It was a mission to get it to fly nice, but the lessons learned i can help with. Its retired now but was a nice flyer after all the mods.... Not very acrobatic... but more jet-like. Below is my (short) build thread... https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show....php?t=1615277 I'm a bit of a jet-nut so i would go for the Buccaneer It is a good candidate for a set-up similar to Your A-6, but maybe using the hi-kv motor with smaller prop so you can ensure strong fuse... You could always give this a try...some planes just fit better around EDF's...found these pics here... http://www.radiocontrolesing.com.mx/jet%20planes.htm
