3 Blade Propeller...

Hi all,
Have a motor combo on a Hacher A40-10S that works well on a 2-BLADE 15x7.

I want to use a 3-BLADE is there a "general" conversion that would get me close, I thought I read somewhere that you reduce the diameter 1 size?? I was going to try a 13x8 3-BLADE

Thanks

I was taught that you go down one and up one.
Down in diameter, up in pitch.

Bypass Ratio = Infinity

This wont help your situation but I have a setup that uses an 18x12 for 2kW and I get the same 2kW with a 15.5x12 4-blade APC prop. I would say the 13x8 would be a good place to start. Just put it on a watt meter and see how it does.

90% of the diameter, same pitch, going from 2 to 3 blades (if the blades have the same shape)
84% of the diameter, same pitch, going from 2 to 4 blades (if the blades have the same shape)
see http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/ under propellers -> equivalent multiblade propellers
