BF<
I'm trying to think of a better description than stable - my ZYX-enabled helis are pretty damn stable (much better than FB for certain) but if I take my thumbs off the sticks they will gradually wander off in one direction or another - not quickly, but very slowly, but this and the Beastx don't do this - they stay where they were left much better. I'm not saying that some fiddling with the PID settings on the ZYX wouldn't help, but I don't understand the PID settings and their interaction with the other settings to feel confident about making big changes). Cheers, Mike |

I noticed that flying in wind became much easier after replacing my Cx with the Robird .My piros with the Cx would go into a wobble after a few rotations( perfect cg)but with this gyro I can go as long as I want!Curious what's different with Beenflying 's experience with this gyro.Im running the Dfc head also and the combo just works great!Something I found when comparing my Beam (kst servo) and my BlackAngel (ds415)servo was I felt they didn't have enough speed and torque with the Dfc head.Cyclic changes and pitch seemed delayed, but not with the Kst 115 or kst215!Just my two cents.

Do you already have the Robird/Black Widow versions in hand? I take it their cases are all plastic? Curious to know as the Robird version is a bit cheaper and the Black Widow ships from the USA (free shipping in the States). I'll admit I like the looks of the ALZRC version best compared to the orange color of the other two, but what does the metal case provide? A little extra vibration dampening? I notice that there is a metal case (bottom half) that can be purchased separately for the Tarot ZYX and I think it is mean for running the gyro on larger/nitro heli's where vibes can be an issue. Can the same thing be accomplished with the Robird/Black Widow by mounting it on a metal plate (such as the one provided with the SK-720 in their mounting kit)? I'm looking to get one of the Robird variants, but not sure the extra shipping or cost for the ALZRC version is worth it or not. Thanks for any input.

The Robird has plastic bottom and top.My bad, I thought the top was metal! It has a lead slug in the plastic bottom that is for vib dampening and is quite affective. Read some of the earlier post with pictures of the internals .I have the Robird version.

Kstds115mg $25 at Aloft hobbies in the USA , there fast to ship and for a dollar more you can get the Kstds215mg .The early ones that I bought had some mainshaft failures in crashs but the newer ones have been much stronger.Gear sets are $5 .The 215 can run at 7.4v .05/3.7kg .The Robird test videos used the 215's.

Thx for the info on the servos. I will await your 3 month review on these to see how they hold up. |

I personally think the KST 115/215's are good servos, but many complained about the 115's main output gear snapping in a crash. Evidently the original designer of the servo, made the output gear deliberately weak to avoid any more than just the output gear, in the servo, getting damaged in a crash (makes sense). Aloft hobbies also has the gear set for these servos at a reasonable price. |

FBL is like a double edge sword when it comes to servos..I'll take the good over the bad.
