Did another video with the Cx on a BlackAngel in 30 to 40 mph ( not on YouTube) but anyone wants a clip of that p.m. me and I will send , it really shows the disc stability of the Robird when you compare the two videos, also the Robird was doing most of the work.

Thanks Steve. I'll link it here for you:

Gosh, that's incredible. I never though they would be able to get the power to weight ratio good enough to do it, and to fly for that long. Thanks for sharing.

Question about blade balancing

I used weigh my blades to balance, but recently I've been using a blade balancer. The two methods don't agree, blades can be level on the blade balancer but different weights.Whats the best way?Newbie question I know but I don't no the answer.

The balancer is the best, but you really should be checking the CoG as well. See this video:
Collective Pitch RC Heli Blade Balance & Setup Tips (1 min 48 sec)

This product from Infinity Hobby makes doing the CoG much easier:

That is the fanciest blade balancer I've ever seen.

So what's the verdict on the Robird G31?

Works great out of the box, easy to setup, software is easy to update( I'm no computer whiz so it has to be easy)Rotor disc seems much more stable compared to my Cx, probably because I wasn't able to run gains higher than 36.The lead slug in the base seems to really dampen vib feedback,vibra- analysis feature gives a flight log of head speed/tail speed ,vibration frequency and strength , pretty cool.I like it!!!

I haven't had the time to fit my 3GY yet, but opinion so far, from those that have, seems very good. It should be my next project, now that the 500 SDC head is installed.

I flashed the gyro up on the bench tonight with a full set of servos and played with the PC app. I setup all of the channel directions and went though all of the setup to see what it did. It all seems very straight forward.

Found out one of my Emax ES08MD servos will only work set to analog. Looks like it has the wrong label on it and is probably a ES08MA. This would explain why I had one servo that seemed to work at a very different speed to the others on the tester.

Both of my FBL 450's are using ~12.5. The 250 uses 10-11mm.

Edit: This for the cyclic. The tail is ~8mm.
