Photo 1:
I used 5 min epoxy and glued in the brass bushings the elevons go in to the fuselage. I also used a long rod through both to hold them straight when drying.

Photo 2:
I used an Xacto and removed a little foam to clear the servo wires.

Servos glued in, these are 8 gram Emax servos (I have hem on my website)

The power system is ready to install. I added about 3" to the battery lead on the ESC.

Ran some doppler passes today. Got 113 mph on the first fresh lipo pass. Rest of the passes were about 108-110 mph. Not bad for the regular Wicked 4000 KV motor. If the Wicked Plus 4000KV was installed should be closer to 115 mph which matches what I doppler a customers video at that is posted on Youtube.

If you find your F16 has a more elevon trim in one side to make it fly level, (mine had about 1/4" more up on the right elevon to fly level) I suggest bending the wing where the aileron would normally be out near the tip to correct it. I found that about 1/16" up aileron over about a 3" section at the trailing edge of one wing tip allowed me to remove about 1/4" elevon deflection to counter the same roll. This makes sense as the aileron has a longer lever arm than the elevons do. Also the small amount of aileron trim is much less drag than lots of elevon roll trim.

Model less lipo = 16 ounces, with 4S 2200 40C Skylipo lipo ready to fly, 25.5 ounces.

Did you paint the wings with that paper stickers on it or did you do it without them?

The kit I had had the paper on the elevons and wings already so I just painted them with Testors Model master. I have two more of these F16 kits I am going to make combos on (motor/fan/ESC and servos) and sell in the for sale section now that I know this light setup works well.

Crash and burn, huh Mav?

Looks great. Just a couple questions for clarification from Post #6:

1) Why did you sand the tabs off of the fan housing?

2) Why did you glue the 3/32 pieces of ply to the fan housing? Does the housing you're using not fit into the model the same?

1) they did not line up with anything and I wanted the motor wires to go as shown in the photos so it was easiest to just remove them.

2) To center the housing equally between the fuselage and belly pan. Since the OD of the housing is smaller than the cavity in the foam, the shims were used to get equal spacing.
