Glider for 4 pound thrust turbine?


Can anyone recommend a glider that's reasonably priced and sized right for this engine?

When I scanned the market I only looked for V-tail gliders... but that's not needed as proven by the guy flying the Swist with turbine power. That widens the perspective alot and suddenly you can choose any F5B glider you like. I would however not use the chepest ones like the Hawk/Tiger.

There are nice flying slopers all over the place but they rarely has room for fuel, so the F5B range is my recomendation.

There's at least one in NZ flying. Looks really nicely built from what I have seen.

I was also looking at the X-models blade series for my turbine but there simply are no room for fuel.

F5B or the Swist will house about 8,5oz of fuel, I guess the ones above doen't have room for more then half that.

If you choose the Swist I can sell you the parts needed to fit the turbine, such as fueltank, the detachable nosecone, CNC parts, pylon for the turbine, clamp etc.

Are you useing a Lambert or the JJJ? or maybe something else :-P

No way to get a fueltank in there... remember you need o put it on the CG too. they fly it on a 3S 2000mAh pack, which is about 85cc of volyme.





Compared to the Swist where you can fit a 5S 4100 right at the CG (250cc of fuel)

Cool, which specs?? the Kolibri is 7,7oz airstarted and I need about 100grams of lead in the nose so an 11oz engine would be fine too on the Swist :-)

How about gluing in fiberglass bulkheads at the front of the wing and at the trailing edge in the fuse, voila, instant fuel tank and this also uses every bit of space for fuel.
Maybe run a 3/8 fiberglass tube through it for wires, should work fine.
