Was not smacking RMRC around... Just the shipping. All my RMRC orders have always been good on the smaller items. Never purchased a plane because of the shipping.
Pointing out that two very similar planes in size shipping from that side of the country by two different vendors had a huge shipping difference. $21vs$42. Penguin and the skywalker are almost identical in size. RMRC should take note... If I the average rc guy feels this way then there are going to be lots and lots more that feel the same way. This equals lost sales. I wanted a penguin... Ended up with a SkyWalker. Pretty close to the same type of plane in many regards. This is how the RC world works... Especially in todays rough economy where many are struggling. I myself am currently disabled and fighting the VA over benefits. That saved $20 can always help ( Hey honey... I purchased another plane. look I even saved $20 bucks ). Anyways... Hope RMRC gets the shipping figured out. Its good company that has greatly furthered our FPV hobby. |

Looks that way, I bought a Penguin 3 years ago this month from RMRC and it was shipped FEDEX ground for $12.42 and just checked what shipping would cost now with FEDEX and its doubled at $23.98. Kind of hard to blame shipping cost on RMRC. Now I just need to find the time to open the box and build it.

Bottom line is the piper is getting paid. If you can compare a penguin from the CN site shipping to RMRC shipping and find a huge gap of discount then, there is little room to complain. Unless there is an actually US based competition, you either commit or move on ...

Guess it comes down to the individual and the value of what they are buying. NS |

Went out today and flew the warped penguin a bit. Its getting hangar-ed. Its just not right. Still feels wonky. That and it failed my stall test horribly. Took it up and killed power. It wing over-ed hard. Recovered it but was very unhappy. I cannot fly a plane I cannot trust in an urban/city environment.
Cannot blame the Penguin for this. Poor plane is seriously messed up lol. Anyways im out. Did not want to start a shipping RMRC war. Things just worked out the way they did. Later all NS |

Are you comparing the shipping cost of the exact same thing? Double boxed ? |

USPS is doing the same thing, they justify it by saying that the large box means they can't pack other junk in the boat/truck/plane in the space used. Cost me over $42 to ship a dude a plane from CA to NE last week. Only weighed about 8 pounds, but the 44in x 16in x 8in dimensions put it into crazy shipping rates. I played with the online calc and was still the same cost for 1in all around larger and 2 pounds heavier...not many options unfortunately. Even Banggood has stopped carrying planes in the US warehouse, I gotta wonder if the shipping rates have contributed.
