Cool, looks like I'm ordering the 14x8e props... I'm still waiting for my frame and some extra parts... Thanks for all your help...

O <- this a ground loop
Hi flypilot,

nice intro for this platform. Thanks for sharing.

Could you be so kind as to share at what lens zoom setting you find the landing gear come into the field of view?
That is my only concern.

I'll be using a hacked Lumix GH1 aka GH13 and the only lens I have for that now is a Nikon 50mm on an adapter so I know I will be fine.
But I would like to guestimate the widest lens I could get away with on the proper format.

thanks,

Ren

Sure, I am using the kit lens at 18mm zoom. And only at extreme manouvering the gear comes into view. Smooth flying is no problem. Please post results and pictures of your setup when you test it.

Thank you very much for this review ! I am also considering this setup to upgrade my current Gaui 500X quadcopter, to lift either my Canon T2i or my Sony Nex 5.

To make a few flight time computations I would like to know the total weight of the frame+gimbal+controller (excluding the battery and camera).

Thank you in advance !

Sorry I don't have that exact weight but would guestimate around 3-3,5 kg.

Hi,

How did you manage to plug all 6 ESCs on the battery? Did you use some power distribution board?

I just made my own distribution board, you can just use two rings of wire and solder on to that.

Did you fly the FH-H800 again recently ? Are you still pleased with its behavior ?

Hi, yes very pleased, the hexa has been in constant AP use the last three months and not one issue...very happy.

Using, W-KM 5.12a and Gains are 200,200,200,70,70.
Using Graupner 14x8 E props on DJI 30A ESC's and 4s batteries.

Good ! I am really interested in this frame. You mentioned that you obtain 12 min flight time with 2x4s5800mAh. Have you tried with only one 4s battery ? I suppose this would give about 9 minutes.

I bought my FH-H800 yesterday, it should arrive in one month to me as I'm in Brazil.

But, I have a turnigy talon hexcopter from hobby king, with 6 x sunnysky 700kv and 6 x 40amp esc running CF 10x4.7 from rctimer. I'm getting 9 minutes on 4S 5000ma.

It all depends on the all up weight and props you are running, also if there is alot of wind and turbulence you will get shorter flighttimes...you should always time your flights and also havesome kind of voltage protection. I use JR so I have the DMSS telemtry module where I can read of voltage and MAH usage..which is very nice.

Congratulations on buying a new hexa, I think you will be happy.

This is indeed good advice! I have an aurora 9 with telemetry that shows the voltage, with an adjustable alarm, as well as the Wookong protections.

I will use the same setup as you do: EOS 550D+18-55mm, so I think the flight time will be the same.. Have you maybe estimated the power needed for stationary flight ?
