I would like to introduce Justin Bieber the WWI figher ace, head came from a toy action figure, and i carved up the torso from an old cray pot float, he's one i made up a couple of years back for my Pfalz, and served his country admirably, he is quite handy at the controls

Pete's Pilots

I like to scale out my arfs and the pilots have to compliment the airplane too.

I don't have the inclination or cash to spend on the more detailed, exspensive pilot but found some really great looking unpainted pilots on ebay from "Pete's Pilots. He's out of the UK and offers unpainted resin figures that are exceptional, especially for the price.

The examples are WWII RAF and USAAF pilots painted from reference.

Thanks buddy...I really like these pilots. I'm fortunate in that I've collected a great deal of the helmets and goggles, etc. from the period and use them for reference. "Pete's Pilots" have excellent detail and don't look at all like cartoon charactors and that a big plus. They're not full torso but more than worth the price.

There's lots of help on how to paint pilots on line also if you do a search.

Best,

CE

What Best Pilots customers are saying about Best Pilots: "..gotta tell you these are extraordinary pilots. I'm the kind of guy who will spend days on a pilot filing off this and adding bondo to that. All in the desire to make the pilot actually look like a human. I don't have to do anything to Bob and Sailor, except paint them, which I really enjoy. You have incredible talent. Keep 'em coming! Rick P., AZ

"... I now know why you call them Best Pilots because they are the BEST! - Dave V., Australia

"I have not, since I started flying rc models in 1965, seen a pilot of this quality with so many details" - Kjeld L., Denmark

"I received my pilot today and I am truly impressed. This is, without a doubt, the most realistic and best quality pilot I have ever seen." - Tony G., CT
"They are worth every penny and then some." - Bob M., FL

"Thanks again for a great pilot! He makes the plane. Otherwise it is just another Ziroli." - Peter M., FL

I Found this bear at Goodwill and decided I wanted him for my Pilot...
I cut him off and cut a roundish piece of 1/2" thk. balsa for a base.
I smeared epoxy on the balsa wood edge then pulled the material down tight around it.
After the epoxy cured I trimmed off the excess cloth.
He wedged up nicely in my Cub without even gluing.
