Two more videos for you to see.
The first is the Motor in boat with no load as suggested, as you can see I have moved the ESC well away from the motor to eliminate the possibility of interference. The second is to show that after a few changes it does work better but still not full throttle. This video starts with me turning the prop by hand to try to show you the resistance in the whole system. |

I think you are on the right track to getting the boat into the water. One more thing to try is run the throttle up to full throttle and then move you throttle trim slowly up as well and see if you get more throttle. Only keep moving the trim until you do not hear any difference in motor speed as you go up.
You will be using your throttle trim to set your throttle end stop adjustment since it is a stick radio system. Pistol grip radios will have end point adjustments for both full throttle and reverse, and will have to set both to get the throttle range right. |

To answer you question about the motor clunking as you turn it by hand, that is normal, it is called cogging. Brushless motors both 2 , 4 pole, and 6 or poll more industrial motors will show more or less cogging effect depending on the strength of the magnet use in the motor. Some of the high power motors you will hardly be able to turn over by hand due to the strength of the magnets.
The only way to check for a bad motor is to check and make sure the ball bearings are smooth, and that there is continuity in the motor windings. There is also the off chance that if you cook a motor by over heating it, you can demagnetize the permanent magnet, much the same way that it occurs in a brushed motor which has been overheated. Other than that, brushless motors are pretty much fool proof. |

At long last Quick Sticks is in the water and at full throttle!
I took her to the LHS, they took one look and said "batteries!" They tested the batteries and my charger, found a dodgy connection, fixed the problem for free and I was on my way to the lake. Maiden VoyageOnly a short video and after wards I played with the trim plates and the steering trim to get a nice flat ride with no skip at all. A big thank you to the old fellow that was at the lake sailing his Kyosho Seawind for helping get the trim plates right, I didn't catch your name sir but thanks again. Thank you also to all of you who have helped along the way and Rich (Frankg) for making such a great kit and coming through for me even though I'm over the Pacific. I would defiantly recommend getting a Legend boat to anyone. Ben

I went camping over christmas and had a chance to get some nice photos and video of Quick Sticks that I want to show you all.
The camp site is Elanda Point at Lake Cootharaba on the Noosa River and it is not long after sunrise. It had been windy every morning and I was begining to think I had packed the boat for no reason, then I woke up to this and dragged the family down to the water before breakfast.
