Hooray!
"Everyone's a winner, baby. That's no lie..."

If you planned and prepared it properly you can do the Calibso on a weekend. The waiting leaves you sparetime for the family - as long as you keep them away from the fridge.

Most problems with the AQ don't happen on the Calibration&Calculation process itself. Most problems have to do with the setup of the airframe. And this is a field where I expect top notch from your side.

Here's a video of an uncalibrated AQ6 Hexa in the snow, swinging a GoPro on a 50$ Gimbal directly connected to the FC without any tuning:

GOPR0007 (4 min 46 sec)

This setup is proven - and it looks similar to those you are building.

Yay, Rusty's back! That was spooky timing Rusty... I just got a Y6 frame from you in the mail for one of my AQs, and then 2 days later you were "giving up" on the AQ. So I'm glad that's all sorted now... and we'll see who finishes theirs first! Great frame BTW, nice work.

If you do mine too

Of course you'd have to figure out why I can't talk to the board, or load software again. I just posted my tale of woe to the AQ forum, so maybe someone will know what's going on. Are we having fun yet...

Cheers,
Rusty

Wow that's tempting, but if I went to someplace as beautiful as where you live I wouldn't want to leave.
Have you gotten your AQ to fly yet?

Not yet, I was quite busy with many aerial works and building an octo for spherical photography with a YS-X6.

I did do the static calibrations while ago and now have some time to test the AQ on a "quad test dummy"and then put it on the octo thats waiting for it.

Unfortunately with my board I cannot get connection to mavlink without compiling as I need the hex to have flow control disabled as none of my serial and bluetooth adapters works with flow control on. That is slowing me down as Im having some difficulties compiling the code (I have no knowledge programming) and thus have to ask to other forum members to do it for me.

Anyway, Im confident that i will get it to fly very soon!

Yes, 3dr radio, 433Mhz

Thanks, credit is not to me but to Sandmen and Maximal for the recent QGC and telemetry function.

Telemetry is a very valuable tool, since it will (among other things) let you judge when the IMU temperature stabilises, which is good to know this time of year when you bring the craft from room-temperature out into -10c

Yep, Sebastian is a very talented designer, indeed. It should also be reasonably cheap to produce, so we can make available at a killer price.
