Cool Only S-Bus receivers are supported yet? Standard receivers support was promised "soon"... Otherwise, upgrade becomes much expensive.

Kinderkram, after this beta release, what's the plan? Do you guys have a plan to do a production run at some point? Reason I ask, is that I wan to pick up one of this boards

Also, can you explain a bit more about the L1 adaptive control? The videos that I have seen are impressive (though most of the AQ stuff is). I gather that it's going to be an add-on that's available for purchase at some point?

I know You might not want to answer this question, but:

How big a role do the ESC32's play in the stability of the craft?

will there be a big loss of performance using standard ESC's?

Thanks

Plans? Hmmm ... after the beta is done I'd likely take a looong vacation.
But nah, there's soooo much on the todo concerning the upcoming features I can't leave my home town for a while...

L1+DCA is a new approach in control algorythms - atm. only tested by scientific/universitary projects and big major players like the Nasa or Boeing.
The info about L1@AQ6 can be found in the Wiki:
http://autoquad.org/wiki/wiki/develo...ive-controller

More about L1 in general:
http://mechse.illinois.edu/sites/index.php?id=706|Home
A paper released by the MIT:
http://acl.mit.edu/papers/L1GNC09.pdf

There are only few projects dealing with adaptive controls on MRs.

Hmm..that AQ link takes me to a word press log-in, and I can't log-in even after registered. Do i need special permissions to view it?

Cool, I have learned a little about L1 looking at those papers, and it's definitely exciting that an MR may have modern control techniques pretty soon. I guess my thought is besides being a cool science experiment, what distinct advantages does it have over the current PID implementation? What you guys are doing with the standard setup is quite impressive in it's own right.

Is it a feature set that will eventually be released? I have read that it may be a fee-based release when/if if happens.

Btw, why Ublox LEA is used on board, not NEO? Its really better in accuracy? Board is 50$ more expensive with it
And maybe external GPS connector is better solution (GPS receiver can be placed on the arm, for example).

Yes, only the best was good enough (I mean in this price range) to gain most accuracy we could get. And after several tests of different GPS units side by side the LEA-6T gave the far best overall results.

EMI was the reason to place the GPS module on the board and use an external antenna instead of going the modular way. Ask DJI or ZUAV why they stick their GPS on a 10feet pole - and still get mixed results...

Actually there IS an external GPS connector. http://autoquad.org/wiki/wiki/autoqu...3Edescriptions and scroll down to J9. In the picture of the board it is not labeled but is right above the Spektrum/SBus connector.
