The elevator pivot/attach point is slid into place, second pic its installed. The pull-pull cables will keep it in place.

The vertical stab/tailwheel support. The original on both mechanisms is on the inside of the tube,I didnt want to make it that small,so everything is outside.

All controls ans surfaces, along with the rear pivot/attach points are removable, like the full size one.

I took dimensions from the seat in the plane...the base is 3/16 balsa, the curved back is thin roofing aluminum. I was trying to figure out something for the edge...any suggestions? How about cushions?

Tail surfaces are done,I still have to fit the folding hinge pins and the surface hinges....THEN interface it with the fuselage, and have it work
The brass square at the top of the stab is where the flying wire attach bolt goes thru...probably overkill....

I've been working on the vertical stab and rudder. Again, the fittings from brass, scaled close to the original. No folding requirement, the horizontal surfaces are the only part that folds up.

These have been apart and together dozens of times to assure a proper fit. Some fittings needed modification or replaced.

Here is the horizontal stab/elevator in a folding test. A little tweaking will be in order because SOMETHING is always not lined up

Covered the tail surfaces..they need some shrinking. Covering is my least favorite thing in modeling,I would build a lot more if Monocote wasnt involved

Hid the servos as best as I could. Cut up several old fuel tanks to see which would fit the best. I may use the other end since it doesnt have the hole in top,or may run ESC wires out to look like fuel lines. Seems like I bolted everything together, not much is glued except the basic frame.

I'm watching this, closely!
I have had the pleasure of flying an Ultra Star, and have an untouched
kit waiting for me to pick up, in Tennessee, once I get the chance.
I have been tempted to build a 1/3 scale model, using an AXI 4130, and
a belt drive.
