Nice!! What power system do you have in your Mirage? Next time out I will get some altitude and check its stall characteristics, see if I can get it into high alfa. Greg

That's right Greg, get it up there and slow it down pull that nose up, it will slow way down, I have a mirage and I can almost set it on the ground landing. W

You'll be able to high alpha no problem. If you can, set your throws as high as you can (I use a lot of expo on the Mirage, no dual rates). You'll need lots of throw when the airspeed gets slow. I've actually slowed the Mirage down enough that I've lost aileron control - I needed to goose the power to be able to turn!

For power in the Mirage, I'm using the WM400 Mk2 with a 3850kv Velocity-RC motor on 4S for about 1500W. They've got a bunch of fan/motor combos on sale now, but you might have to upgrade your ESC and batteries... http://www.velocity-rc.com/cgi-bin/v...on=list&cid=12

Thanks for the input guys, This is the first EDF delta I have ever flown so I will get out there and practice with it I can crank my throws up if needed, I already am running 60% expo. bwoolia, out of curiosity what capacity 4s in the Mirage and how many amps are you pulling at 1500W?

I have a 4000mAh battery, my flights are 3:00 to 3:30. I figure I'm drawing 110A or so.

No problem. I've never actually measured it, but I have measured my 5S combo at 3200kv, it's a bit of an extrapolation.

Thanks, I am still playing with it. I need to redo the mains or just go back to a belly lander. The wing is to thin for retracts (they where an after thought)

bwoollia, yes, with some practice I was able to get it to slow nicely I am not sure if I like the landing gear. Now that I have learned how to fly it belly landing in the grass would not be bad.

Yeah, belly landing a 70mm jet is no problem. With the Mirage, I just harrier it into the ground, it plops down no issues. Landing gear can be unsightly and draggy on a jet.

She looks and flew great! Let me know if you figure out how to slow down the landing, that's my greatest fear when I go flying....running out of runway! High alpha testing at altitude sounds like a good idea.

CG looks spot on, awesome!
