3 flights in the first 1/2 hour of ownership.
using stock batteries, I'll need upgrade batteries. I'd like to fly for about 5 minutes. It flies very nicely -DG |

well heres my un-boxing video along with the maiden part 1 & 2 for those that have not seen them. A guy asked in the old thread what the vertical performance is like, well it goes straight up till it runs out of air, then falls forward and flies away beautifully, not a bad habit in it
the two part maiden shows ROG take off's and landing strong wind handling and just how much fun this great little jet is please enjoy cheers chuck

Be aware that it does not have vertical performance as such. It goes up until the inertia runs out which happens in about 30ft and then down she comes.

LHS has them in stock. I think I'll wait a while to make sure it's not another Carbon Cub.

Got mine on Thursday and managed to squeeze in five packs before the end of light. It's been too windy ever since here at 20+ knots. Will have to wait till Monday I think.
Maiden was in pretty windy conditions anyway, 10-15 knots and the Mig was fast. Roll rate is very fast. Controls felt good. Inverted flight was comfortable. It was very twitchy in the wind with ASX3, but predictable and workable. Mig feels very robust. Feels much more sturdy and light than the GeeBee for example. The nosewheel is an aboslute treat and has brilliant command. Mig is the best ultra micro take off of them all. Landing is a bit more of a trick as it is very fast with its swept wing. It looked deceivingly slow on a approach though. I cannot wait to get it back up in the air. I am so tempted just to brave the winds, but so far logic has won out... |

Last night, Jim350 and I cycled the servo's like we did for the Beast3D after pulling his jet out straight of the box. All servo's performed AOK on the bench.
A few tardy things during assembly have been noticed on both the production models we inspected here. The main thing is the servo wires for the ailerons are sitting behind the fan instead of being tacked with tape against the fuse to keep the exit clear like the pre-production model. The production version has a clear plastic tab added to the center of the underside of the horizontal tail to reinforce the surface. Jim's was badly mis-aligned and is so off center that it is protruding in front of the right hand elevators LE. Unfortunately, it is glued in there really well as we did try to correct it back to it's proper position but had to stop as we were slicing away without success. I got 4 300mah crappo-techs in the mail this morning. I am cycling them at 300mah discharge/charge to see if this helps them perform in the jet. The first lipo looks promising as it recharged 282mah back into the pack. I am hoping a gentle break in period might do the trick with these lipo's. |

Well, as much as I loved the way this plane was looking, I've already been on a plane buying spree lately. BUT..... today I stopped in the LHS for a couple of props, and there on the counter, fresh off the truck, were a half dozen of these beauties. I couldn't resist. I told them 'You HAD to get these today? Couldn't you wait til I left with my props?' Haven't flown it yet, and already have other plans tomorrow. Might be able to maiden in the afternoon though. Can't wait!
