Trying to make my final buying decisions.

I have some exact match hxt900 metal gear servos here.
How detrimental would the weight be vs. the added durability?
It is 13g vs. 9g.
12g is too much to be worth it?
Tough choice because I Really want to keep it light but I Really hate the thought of replacing gears or servos.

I think hxt900 metal gear servos are to much, they will work, but there so much flex in the foam and control rods I can't see knocking out a servo gear, I sure it can be done, but I've been flying for 40 years and never and I'll repeat that NEVER striped a servo gear in the air.

I got mine done and a few flights this morning. Went fine except i'm having a hard time getting enough control throw on the ailerons the hinges are really stiff and slow the servo down. i'm using a gws naro I had, I think it should be enough.

Bob, unhook your linkage to the ailerons and flex them a hundred times, full travel, that might help...

also you can un hook them and fold them over on them selves place weight on it and come back in an hour thats what I did with mine and I think it works great..

medic45, he is already flying the plane, so the control horns are glued into the ailerons, so they can not be folded over flat, that has to be done before hand.

Does everyone add the Welder to the hinges as per the build video?
I wonder if that is what made his ails too stiff?

EDIT: It was a TH build video
