How to attach "printed out" decals to foam?

Building an electric foam Ugly Stik; printed out the Cross decals for the wing on regular printer paper. Will this be suitable enough paper to glue these to the foam?

What type of glue to use for the decals, and should I clear coat spray over them afterwards?

My experience in the past is that most of my clear sprays "yellow" over the decals after a short time.

I've printed on regular printer paper and then coat with clear Krylon. Cut out the marking and use canopy glue to attach. Worked well.
