Looking forward to someone putting a watch and an altimiter on this glider to get the climb rate. It would be nice if it could hit at least 170 meters ( about 550 feet) in 30 seconds. That would be enough to make it interesting for ALES. If a prop change could get the rest of the way without overloading the motor/ESC, that would be perfect.

My flap kit did not include linkage cowls. I think that they would make the flap installation less like a jury-rigged afterthought.

E sailplane thermal hack
Why hasn't anyone with sailplane experience given a good report on this plane??
I've had and flown both the radian 1 and the pro. Was pleased with original radians performance but found it lacking in both it's lack of ailerons and it's flexing wings and fuse. And radian pro,,,, well it just doesn't fly that good. I have hopes for this one. I'm waiting for receiver ready version. I've seen the txr ready version at RC hobby country looked pretty good. Maybe l'll just have to get that one an take a chance. :-)

If I had one I could review it but I don't ave one. Interested To see how it would do as an ALES glider.

E sailplane thermal hack
Ok,,,, guess I'll have to be the gunea pig,, I'll go and get the one at RC country this Friday and fly it Saturday,, I'll keep you posted. It IS the nicest looking of the foamy e powered sailplanes. I'd imagine a bigger prop combined with bigger ESC would give it better climb , I like the full length ailerons and carbon spar in wings, shape of wings and fuse is nice too

Great, man! With your expertise in the art of soaring, you could elaborate what setup will do this glider justice. I'll be here learning from you.

Gentle Ben,
The Radian is a great plane. My flying buddy got me started back on one of his ( he has a handfull in case I skymole one) and I bought one of my own and fly about twice a week. Give it a try and I know you'll love it. They handle great and and catch thermals very well.

My neighbor who hasn't flown in a few years just told me that he ordered a Calypso after seeing my planes. It will be nice to have someone else flying from the local park. I'll post my impressions when we get it flying.

Calypso review

I Am new to sailplanes and was just about to get either a radian or a radian pro when i saw this. I like the relaxed flying style of the radian, but also like the features (crow, etc) of the pro...hopefully the calypso with flaps will be a good combination of the two.

Really looking forward to your reviews.
