Well I got over my nerves... and decided to do a first flight in my tiny back yard.

DJI S800 First Flight - DJI Wookong-M (6 min 45 sec)

Also did a quick Z15n test in front of the mirror...

DJI Zenmuse Z15n Mirror Test (0 min 38 sec)

Next up will be a flight in a nice big field with long grass !

I have never seen any vibration problems but I did find that some std. carbon props needed rebalancing. I have also made a conversion kit for using stock 14x4.7 APC's, these seem to be a little better in strong winds IMHO. They run slightly faster. Much cheaper too.

I just got my s800 back after my crash and it seems to me that the new props i got are alot stiffer then the ones on my old one, maybe thats why some of us dont have so many vibrations as others

I think receiver placement could be a potential source of problem as well. With two layers of carbon nicely placed to block any signal I think it/they have to be mounted very high or well below the plates away from carbon blockages. I definitely would not put anything between those plates. There is so much carbon everywhere that line of sight at all angles is hard too achieve

Whereas I know that many are using much higher gain settings than default I have been working the other way. I have very low atti and a little higher basic gains. I find that the model is a lot less nervous in higher winds.

Of course there is zero data to back this up but I could buy it as something to investigate (although I would imagine DJI has already checked into this).
I just don't get how idle speed would affect the timing?! I saw it more as a minimum throttle trim... Nothing to do with actual inflight throttle input (35-100% ish)
I'm happy it worked, but I don't understand how or why

Thank you for the info.

What gain setting are you using on the S800/Z15 combo?

Regarding log data, the perhaps the most helpful data right now would be logs of the PWM control pulses going from the WKM to the ESC. If we had logs of the control pulses during a "flip of death" we would know insantly is the problem was in the WKM or in the arm (physical wire problem or ESC/Motor). Another log that would be very helpful was the status and health of the IMU leading up to the flip. I find it incredible that there is no logging in the WKM. All the hardware needed is already there.
