How did you handle the power to the retracts? BEC?

Wow!
Best footage (smoothness-wise) I've seen from an S800!

Kudos!

Looking good Daan! A little gain adjusting from the Skyline, and smooth flying in manual or atti, then your footage is perfect!

Sorry to be such a noob, but I'd really appreciate a little instruction as to how one would wire up the Secraft retracts. I see they come with a "Y" connector but their web site warns that you must use a separate power supply so, obviously, it isn't as simple as plugging in the servo connector to a spare receiver channel. Is there a wiring diagram somewhere that I'm overlooking? I appreciate your patience as I am trying my best to learn.

Suggest to use BEC safe! If it use the voltages coming out of the WKM without BEC. Burned!

BEC 10A

This is only for the secraft retracts v1 right? V2 directly draws power from the wkm mc

Today I had a crash with my S800 and Z15g onboard. WKM had 5.18 FW loaded.
Here is the video of the crash. It started to spin so violently that 2 battery packs were thrown out of the tray. Thats why camera stopped recording and copter fell on the ground.

Anyone have any idea what could be the cause of the spin? It was in GPS mode, when spinning I went to ATTI and manual, but it didn't help.

Wow that was looking like it would have been some nice footage too! Hate seeing this. Its also just amazing that the Z15 will keep smooth footage even as the helicopter is crashing.

@quadslo It might be that you didn't have the batteries down tight and a motor failed went into a controlled spin to land and then tossed the batteries out on its way down resulting in the crash. Flying over some of that powered snow the motors may have ingested some and shorted it out? Just a theory.
