I start a new theater for the old remote control systems (vintage).
If you want to stay the topic, if not to delete from administrators.
My name is Elias Greece and the nickname it seems.
My real job is Electronic Engineer with over 40 years dealing with these systems and general electronics. (Repair, construction and design of various electronic systems.)
Now I'm retired and I have much free time engaged in the hobby.
I apologize for my English but it is not my normal language.
Here I want to deal with the old remote control systems of our hobby.
Uploading photos of old systems, circuit diagrams (transmitter - receiver - servo and all electronic systems),
patent ideas, alterations, repairs, etc.
Expected to show much interest and participation from many friends.

It deals both with real old-time radios (mainly single channel and early multichannel such as reed systems) and with modern emulations.

I just finished putting together a simulated single channel transmitter that uses a Fly Dream 2.4 module. An emulator board in the transmitter makes the radio in the model (rudder, elevator, throttle) behave as though operated by a compound escapement. Press and hold the button gives right, press twice and hold gives left, press three times and hold gives "kick-up" elevator, and a very quick blip of the button changes the throttle setting.

Fun to recall the days of 50+ years ago when that was advanced control. I'm flying it in a 36" electric model that flies like the ones we had in those days.

Next project, get a 6-channel Kraft Reed system going on 27.

There is much interest in vintage radio systems, quite relaxing compared to the "geeky" radios we have now! Surprisingly the 27 Mhz band is now very usable since the CB madness of the 70's is over. As Daedalus66 noted it is possible to make a proportional radio behave like an escapment control while actually using a servo. But its even better to use an actual vintage radio if possible. Refers to a very old electronic systems, tube transmitters, batteries huge, huge material.
I do not have such systems remote control in front of me but certainly in my old store will have something there.
Plans I have many of these systems with tubes.
The band 27 Mhz is for CB madness but 7 frequencies were free to Greece for radio control systems.

Ah,the good old days with a couple of vacuum tubes and a pair of batteries, one of them 135v. That's 90 AA cells all soldered together in series! It's nice to be able to emulate with modern equipment, but my hat off to those who revive the real thing.

These transmitters Futaba but other brands controls, had no mandate to reverse servo.

How this was done without any intervention at all internal components.

In the old days you could get normal or reverse servos. A reversed servo had the leads reversed to the motor and potentiometer.
