This is the opportunity you guys have and have had now for some time to make your own parts for the bike and take the lead. Obviously there will not be any more support or new products coming from Atomik in support of this platform. They dropped the GPV they will drop the MM450 as soon as they sell through most of their kit stock to recoup cash.
I hope Im wrong but if history has any bearing on future events you can set your watch by this one. They couldnt market themselves out of a paper sack let alone support and develop this platform. It pisses me off to see all of this go to waste, years of work for nothing. There is no refuting this, it is fact not fiction.
So step it up guys and get on to making axles, pins, shocks and fork shafts... anything, just do it so you have better parts and a support system in place. Use better alloys and make some tweaks.
Contact me if your serious and I will be happy to consult on your project for free as a gift to keep bikes going strong.
Come on Chris, dont hold back, tell us how you really feel. haha. I hope your wrong about them when it comes to keeping the bike in production. They should force support at its distribution shop in AUS because thats bs that guy can just say no to the bike. How does he not support his own company products. Yeah without r&d its development is dead but where it stands is a good base to work from. They were willing to sell the bike with the e-gryo out of the box which is huge in terms of setting the bar for future US bikes if ever made by the likes of a Traxxas.
In terms of marketing, in atomiks defense from the outside, they did way better with the mm than the vmx. They got Deegan on board, they advertised with full front page advertising on racerxonline, and they had a blurb about it on vurbmoto, two HUGE mx sites. All the reviews have been good as far as I know. The problem is a) economy sucks, and b) racing needs to start up. Until then we look like a bunch of isolated loners with a cool looking hobby vehicle, but still look like loners. That is one instance where Atomik could be doing track demonstrations with bikes racing but ultimately owners need to do this. Places like Germany had no problem doing this 6 yrs ago with Ricky bikes and they didnt have fancy egyros either.
