Question
Airplane flying in Marin County ?
Hi,
I'm somewhat new to RC Airplane flying, and looking for a good spot to fly in the Marin area. I was going to right behind Home Depot, but they closed off that lot. Plus, it was right on the water...so it was a little windy. I have a Super Cub and T-28 Trojan. I've been to a few parks, but there doesn't seem to be enough room, and too many people as well. Can anyone recommend a good spot to fly planes at? Thanks in advance! M |

decent spot behind trader joes
There's a pretty good spot in corte madera, right behind the trader joes. when you go past the trader joes parking lot (it should be to your right, otherwise you're going the wrong way) and take a right at the stoplight. keep going ALL the way to the end of that road, and take another right into the dirt parking lot at the end. get out, and walk down the path about ten feet or so (away from the store, not parallel with it) and there's a semi-raised grass runway about 50 feet long or so. it's not bad, especially if it's been mowed. sometimes when it's getting a bit shaggy i go over and mow it. I also mapped it under the maps section on rcg, labelled "grass runway behind the supermarket" or something along those lines

hmm, I've done a few flying lessons at gnoss, and it seems to me like there is rarely more than 10 minutes between people landing, taking off, touch-and-goes, etc...
