Quad Whisperer
No. I wanted it to always turn off the motors when the throttle is at idle.

Hey, Is there any Schematic diagram for the new KK2 board.
I want to to develop my own firmware on it.

Kindly advise.

Does the back light turn on?
Hi KK,
Immediately after the "failure" I disconnected everything and hooked M1 up to a ESC. Backlight then flickered a couple of times. After that no response.
Today I inspected the board with a microscope at work but I couldn't spot any visual damage.
I see a lot of test points on the board. Are there any specific points I could check to diagnose the prob? Thanks!

Awesome. I'm very glad to hear this!

Though I can understand the benefit of using quality digital servos, lots of us bought this $30 board to maintain a low cost platform and use other low cost parts with it.

Thanks.

I managed to find individuals of the same module with a 0.8mm pitch connector, but not 0.5, of course.

I guess I will have to order another kk2 and share the lcd between the two boards (not that I mind the excuse for another all that much ), unless someone knows of a source.

im starting to like this board more and more everyday..still tuning it a bit but i can hover it hands off with little to no drift depending on weather conditions....

can anyone tell me how the hight dampening works and what the "desired" setting might be? i havent touched that yet...any extra info would be great...and yes i did read the first page, but i would like to know know more on it than what is there...unless there really isnt much else to say??

thanks

Hi,
I just did another set of flights.

Beside loving this board more and more, I started to play with height dampening.
At first I set it at 10, limit 30. It seemed to me that autolevel becomes more stable and smooth. I increased it up to 30, but I noticed that throttle becomes too much soft to fly a little hard. I risked an unwanted hard landing, because throttle was not responding as before on hard braking.
At this point autolevel seems to be trimmed offset vs, manual mode trims.
Programming a double flight condition with individual trims could help, but it is not very elegant. An autolevel trimming offset in the code could be a nice feature.
The autolevel at my actual settings seems really good to do FPV and have a sort of "position hold", to look around. But controls become almost unusable for me.

I confirm that with new RapidESCs the response of controls is amazing.
I'm increasing stick scale by step now.

Best regards,

Ric

Hey All,
Received my KK2 board yesterday afternoon in the post ~3:30pm, was up and flying within 20mins, this included fitting, wiring up and setting PID's to suit ....I've never been able to do that with any other FC, I have FreeFlight, HK-2&3, Rabbit, and Crius MultiWii SE....none of these were as easy to setup and have running this quickly. The fact of not having to use a PC to setup is a great idea, the LCD screen must be the best idea I've seen in many years.

KK, you've really done a great job helping new quad flyers with this board.

I run a cheap HK $11 450 DJI clone frame in X mode and the motors and props must be near perfect balance with these frames otherwise the gyros and accelerometers get the "yips".....the KK2 flys it fine, none of the other boards with accelerometers are as good or as stable IMHO, the FreeFlight board comes close and is a great flyer for me but takes way longer to setup and tune to my liking.
Took me three short 1min flights to get the KK2 all trimed and dialed in non-AL mode.... and with AL armed it was pretty much a hands free, non-wobble hover in no wind conditions. I'm impressed.

Admittedly auto-level is a tad on the slow side but is great for first time & learner flyers.... and for FPV-AP work, non auto level is brilliant and you can throw your bird around with ease, at least as good as the other higher cost boards, the adjustability and ease of setup of this cheap board has to make it the best "bang for buck" FC board out there.....

Well done Kapteinkuk..I'll be buying more of these for sure.

Cheers,
Smithy.
