DiaLFonZo-Copter Boom Block

Hi All,

I am working on Boom Block to be use on multicopters.
They will be custom printed by a factory and once i confirm the model i will let people order direcly from that factory online.

Here is what i came up with (More size to come, and will accept request)

16mm (T-Rex 500 size) boom block:

The price will be set by shapeways factory.
They can be ordered but they didn't have been tested yet.

DiaLFonZo-Copter 16mm Boom Block (Single)
DiaLFonZo-Copter 16mm Boom Block (Quad)
DiaLFonZo-Copter 16mm Boom Block (HEX)

whole copter parts?

Wow! More good stuff from you guys!

Will you be making available the motor mount plates and the center plates for a whole copter build with these tube blocks?

That would be very popular ala Rusty's frames.

I love my "crazy to fly" frame I got from you. I am looking to build a second larger frame for photography, and this interests me.

Thanks for any info you can provide!

Nice with options

I really like the way you leave lots of design options open to the builder. This should be important as it will open up more market share for you.

I like both the boom end motor mount plate designs. One with two blocks that cantilevers as shown above in this thread, and the non-cantilever motor mount with two boom blocks as shown on the Shapeways website. Both options should be offered so the builder can choose between the two. I like the way the motor wires run directly into the end of the carbon tube on the cantilever motor mount design as shown directly above in this thread...

It is a good idea to keep a lot of options like size of motor mounting plates and the size of the hole in the mounting plate for the motor to fit inside of. It would also be nice to see a frame design like this provide a neat location for the mounting of the ESC's so the motor wires will easily go down the arm tubes from the center power distribution system.

A simple square boom arm system design would be great as well. This would eliminate the need for the tube blocks altogether making for a lighter build. The square tubes would just fit between the bolts in the frame and motor mounting plates like Rusty's frames...

very nice designs Dialfonzo!

An ordinary sort of incredible

Scale up?

How about scaling up to 21.5mm for TRex 600 booms? I'm wanting to go to something a little more substantial than 12mm or 16mm for strength and visibility.

No problem
I was waiting to get the first run to confirm the design.
